I've posted about my gundam here. Honestly I think any table top hobby would be allowed

    @RedFlames

This has got to be imo one of the best vids GW has made, enjoyed it, showing glimpse of everything, but they did do a few factions the dirty and they wasn't included, still odd that the story has been moving forward and it feels like it's picking up pace. I can see us getting Portorabo this year so another traitor Primarch but I doubt we will see another loyalist for a while

i only mention it as i used to play with a group years ago but internal strife that started before i joined pretty much killed it as they all became arseholes, i bailed but my sets have been sitting idle for ages, its been yough to find people who play and know how to use soap so i was ****ing amazeballs when the new ACES set finally dropped. its solo/co-op choose your own advendure campaign and AI card driven opfor is something else.

Sooo what do you guys think to everyone assuming the latest video is GW that the emporer is going to be the next big story arch.. allot of ppl have gotten it into there heads he's coming back.. next year is 40 years of 40k and they hinted something big is coming next year.. they after all the years released what they grey knights terminus decree is, the next part of the king in yellow books has been held back. It feels like GW is now trying to get every one on the same page.. to move the story in the same direction!!

The video does hint it's the battle of the Gods but also hints at allot of things, and if you know the lore the video doesn't show the throne it shows fake golden throne, the actual throne is locked away guarded what the ppl. They even refer to him as the carrion lord in the video..

Not sure how I feel about the rumours, he imo cannot come back as a physical being, maybe a god in the realm of chaos as it hints as this is the time of the battle of the Gods

I still haven't gotten my head around how they find a thousand sacrificial psykers daily. They clearly don't use any courier service I have experience of.

Nor how you can beat Necrons that revive themselves.

They have a Fleet called Black Ships the Soul duty is to collect Phykers... Every planet in the Galaxy that has humans on it has the Imperial Tythe, this isnt money is Bodies they round up any one with any Phyker, and then they get Tested, and the the way the Video shows it isnt how allot of the Books represent it, allot of the Pykers than feed the Emporer are part of the Astronomican, you essentlly get bolted into seat your entre life is then Drained as you focus everything you have to power the Astronomican which is part of the Golden Throne, then when you Die your body is gone and they Replace you, but the lore around this changes from book to book.

But if you think the Impreium has a Million worlds to get people from, and a Hive City can have 100 to 500 Billion people living in it.. and 1 planet could have several Hive citiys they have Bodys to boot... The Imperial guard is more impressive as every 15 mins the entire population of Earth right now is whiped out.. War is everywhere and there is alway more Bodies

As for the necron they can be destroyed, The bodies Can be wiped out and not replaced, If the Pheron gets destoryed the drones under are almost useless, but necron cannot replace that which is lost, so like Mankind they have Numbers, but unlike Mankind they cant be replaced, There is also allot of Infighting within the Necron, they fear the Destoryer curse and the Flayed curse and some factions of necron activily seak to destory them, But also Necron want to Rule the Galaxy, But they need subjects to Rule over...

Orks are the fungis, unless you burn the body they will come back.. time and time again..you might think you have gotten rid of them but you havent..

The only Faction i have issue with is Tau, and i play Tau.. they are such a Small minor race than if Imperium really really wanted to they could wipe them out.. in the last tau expansion they got up to around 500 worlds.. they control.. just number wise makes 0 sense

the Lore for WH is massive its 99% of what i do with the hobby, Ive got soo many of the books and codex stuff. its the part i love the most, Which i think why GW wants the writers on the same page, as you get so many contradictions between some of the book.s

The Tau make a lot of sense to me. They're heavily armed, (almost) totally unified, have excellent logistics and they're essentially invisible to the Chaos Gods.

Sure The Imperium could scrape them from the map in a few decades if it desired. But that would mean committing multiple fleets, a dozen or so Astartes chapters, Titans and enough Imperial Guard to assault an empire of 5-600 worlds. Taking those forces away from facing the forces of Chaos, Tyranids, Necrons and Orks who all present a far more pressing threat to The Imperium.

    Plus they look like Gundam.

I've never been able to see Orks as anything like a threat, due to their comedic gumpf. Chaos are too few and can be held back after a fashion. Necrons could be an issue, but if Kehoe says they can go down, then fine. Eldar are capable but not conquest-thirsty or numerous enough. Dark Eldar are raiders. It's the Tyranids that are a bit of a bacterial thorn.

You'd think the dudes in power armour have got this, really. Especially now their dads have started to show up.

I still can't really accept the Tau and the Squats Leagues of Votann in the 40K 'verse. Probably because I still see both as "new", being the old git I am.

Tau bluntly seem to be a "how do we get in on the Japanese market?" cash grab, and the Votann just don't seem to fit.

Nothing against people who collect them! Would still happily play a game against the xeno scum.

Now that has given me a proper sad.

Had the great pleasure of meeting and chatting with him so many times over the years with one memorable occasion being the solar eclipse of 1999 where just about all the GW HQ staff had gathered in the car park with whatever contraption we had made to safely look at the eclipse and John and I were standing near to his Harley, and we ended up chatting about all things mechanical and bikes in particular. We had similar brief chats now and then when our paths crossed at Lenton as well as the odd occasion in the Nottingham City centre store, but that often ended up with the poor fella getting mobbed once people spotted who it was. he never stuck around long when that happened (can't blame him) but he was always pleasant, signing autographs and so on.

As has been said so many times, he is almost entirely responsible for the look and feel of the games that we are fans of, both fantasy and 40k, sure there has been plenty of input from others, but I think a lot of them would also cite him as an inspiration to their work whether as a result of working with him or seeing his work.

Not seen him in person in recent years but it was always nice to know that he still about throwing paint at things, going to miss that.

I got Tau when I was younger they where fun to play got a little OP at one point. In the Lore Farsight has split off from the Main Tau force imo this was to give you reasons for Tau Vs Tau

Going back to the biggest thing in Warhammer is PLOT armour. Things happen to try and keep GW from loosing money and being able to keep people buying.

Primaris where not going to be different at 1st my mate worked at GW when these 1st came to light and they where originally GW just trying to rescale stuff.. then marketing got involved.

They will never please everyone and there will always be people wanting more ect. Honestly can you imagine if they ever did a xenos vs xenos as a new addition box set!!

Lore Vs table top will never be the same as it wouldn't sell.

@IanW that is sad news as his art was awesome inspiring

Anyone else going to be getting the Armageddon box set ?? I don't need more Dark Angels.. but I've signed up to see if I get my name in the hat

Just came here to post that. Really sad news.
I've said to myself only if I can buy it at a discount, but will probably get FOMO on the day and pay full price. Which I shouldn't as I need to save a bit of money after the washing machine shenanigans at the weekend.

    ''old miserable git''
    FTFY

Votann are just more trademarkable Squats... IN SPAAAAACE!!! /meme

as for tau, i like that they are in the setting, i like the Aquatic theme of their vehicles and the battlesuit aesthetic, not to mention the Kroot, vespid and others that give them a unique look on the tabletop

I'm ex-Epic scale, so Squats and their ridiculous bikes and Thudd Guns will always be 40k to me. Tau are obviously new, but I don't mind them as supposed underdogs since they have cool tech. I reckon they should have a pop at the Eldar for a bet.

    Saw this this morning.

I've talked myself (well, with help of a friend too) into getting the 11th Edition starter set regardless of getting a discount or not.

Aside from the fact I want the lore/rulebook anyway, I've also started collecting Orks (because I need to have yet another unpainted army) and the included ones are all great to have in my planned WAAAGH! The marines, whilst not such a great inclusion to my Blackwatch (Black Templar/Deathwatch hybrid, geddit?), are functional enough. Although I'm not so keen on the land speeder. Hmm. Maybe I should flog it.

At least there's nothing outright crap in the box (thinking of you, Desolation marines).

Hah ! I do like the models of the two factions, but in my weird little head, they just don't fit with everything else. Almost as though they're from a different game.
