    From what I understand the tables are two kill team size boars but you can combine two, it might be worth seeing what they have and you then reserve by the hour, as we once booked a full day when we did a broadsword gaming meetup, but someone had booked 1 hour somehow in the middle of the day and then refused to move to another board.. so we had to pack down the game we had 3 hours into and then restart once there hour was up. WHW fault when we booked the event they forgot to block out the full day

    I've played 1/2 a full game of 40k with my black Templar about 4 years ago, 1 game of kill team that's in. Been collecting 30 years... I'll post what models I have but my plan was bring lots so other ppl can join in.

    As for getting there I just jump on the tram we it goes through Nottingham and then stops outside whw *about a 5 min walk* I don't drive so I have to twoboot it.

    @lilgoth89 I can always meet you and we go from the station to the tram to WHW. Parking at whw can be hell. Just warn everyone. There is only about 50 spaces and often they were gone by 10.

    I won't lie if it's amazing weather id walk but if I'm bringing minis I might not

    Is best look at getting a transport bag next month. If I drove I'd bring the big guns and do a bring it down game

    I think the current attendees could be:

    @Pete J
    @ModSquid
    @Byron C
    @Almightyrastus
    @lilgoth89
    @Kehoe

    My armies I'll bring (all 1000pts):
    • Chaos Daemons
      • Skarbrand
      • Skulltaker
      • Daemon Prince with wings
      • Skullmaster
      • Bloodletters
      • Bloodcrushers x 6
    • Chaos Space Marines
      • Warpsmith
      • 3 x Forgefiend
      • 3 x Maulerfiend
    • Chaos Knights
      • Knight Desecrator
      • Knight Rampager
      • 2 x War Dog Brigand

    Yes, they're "tough unit" dominant! Feel free to tailor armies to counter. I like the idea of all playing together on a large table, Chaos versus...

    And I'll be driving, so also happy to ferry to and from the station.

    I do a Tabletop Simulator session with my brother on Friday nights, so I may have a +1 and also some armies.

    Will update for definite later tonight, though at this stage I can make absolutely no firm commitment regarding a cheerleader outfit :hehe:

    I would not be playing, not really my thing these days, but I am up for stopping by and saying hi to everyone for a bit. I am pretty flexible with regards to what days, I live only about 20mins away down the ring road so I shall fit in with what works for everyone else.

    oh yeah ive used the tram multiple times, and ive done the Canal walk as well a few times if the weather is nice, its just more convenient to get picked up on the way in, especially if im hauling an army
    ive also finished printing out and washing your bike bitz, but ive left them on the supports for now as its easier to transport

    im 100% able to go and bring an army, which army it is and how many points and how strong can be determined by whoever else is coming and their experience / lists

    Oh, if anyone is going to be taking the tram from the city centre or the station and is not familiar with the routes, get the Toton Lane service and get off at Gregory Street, then just head back up the way that you came and WHW is on your right.

    yeah, you will notice you go over a bridge, and WHW will be on your left as you do, its kind of annoying to go past it, i would know as when i take the train i go past Warhammer world TWICE, once on the train, and then again on the tram

    Yeah, if the next stop is listed as Queen's Medical Centre then it is best to get off and get another one stop back than trying to walk it....

    I looked at booking a table on the 11th, and unfortunately it looks as though everything's full. I'm hoping one of you chaps has already booked one?

    Same, i guess its more busy than normal with 11th edition dropping next Monday

    Warhammer world does need to expand its gaming hall and has done for many years, its very often very busy in there, but sadly the have built themselves in a corner as there is important stuff beyond each wall, and the ever expanding product line means the store encroaches further into the gaming space ( see also MOST Games Workshop stores, where once there was 3 or 4 gaming tables, now there is often no tables at all, just more shelf space

    The gaming hall got shrunk when the store moved upstairs. The OG shop was downstairs and the hall was from wall to another and then Bugmans, they then did a open plan shop for a while that had a massive hall but the new version of the hall is soo small for the venue, the bar is almost the same size. issue is they don't really have space to go without relocating allot. The whole forge world and gw now being merged is somewhat new (last 5 years) I know they have just redone the exhibition part. I still remember the old exhibition centre it was awesome life size terminator and gene stealer.

    Weekend slots for the tables always fill up really fast. the only other alternative would be see if Element Games Nottingham might have a table free that weekend. Could do whw meetup go round exhibition get a drink and food at Bugmans then head to element or just move the date.

    yeah, GW really do want to expand, i remember seeing a proposal they submitted many years ago about what they wanted to do if they were able to take over the Lumberyard and textile factory across the road from them
    they wanted a large 2 story carpark and a large medieval looking complex built, which would house Nu Bugmans, the gaming hall, Shop and Exhibition hall
    weather GW actually wanted ( or even had the money ) to pull it off is dubious, but by submitting interest they can rubber stamp their mark on the land should it ever come up
    they have also submitted a proposal for a dedicated railhead, given they back onto the railway it would partially make sense with moving stock to the new Eurohub at the East Midlands airport
    they have gradually been buying and building out most of the Lenton estate ( even if during Kirbys reign they sold off land earmarked for expansion which they then had to re-buy at nearly 5x the price they sold it for )

    They outgrew where they are so long ago, my mate worked there for years and even in the early 2000s they struggled for space. Since they moved the main storage they have slowly been altering things. Man I remember the days you could go in an order stuff and they would make it while you waited.. it's how I got all my OG epic stuff. Still regret never getting a OG warlord titan.

    Just been painting my bannan Bois they all now have had there 1st coat of gold and next I'll do my two stage hight lights on the amour and then block In the other colours.

    Side note debating if I pick up a ballitus and brutalis dreadnaught for my Dark angels. I've got so many units I'm painting atm need to block stuff out

    When I worked there in '99 the hall was just that, a hall with definite school gym feels. There was none of the decorative castle elements, the shop was downstairs with that wonderful window into the special order casting area next to mail order shipping and the amazing place that was the metal parts area where staff could buy metal models by weight of metal rather than retail (well retail - 50% of course).

    Of course, this meant that the hall was MUCH bigger, but it didn't have tables always set up as it does now as this was prior to the Warhammer World era so the area was used for events and staff gaming, there was even area area just out the back of the hall set aside for staff to play non-GW games out of sight of the public.

    The exhibition area at the time had the full UM chapter display alongside several Games day / Golden Demon event displays with second space having the "life size" displays with things like the Space Hulk corridor, an Imperial guard comms trench, some Dark Eldar, some Blood Angels, some Eldar and a few other bits such as the shuriken catapult and fully details SM helmet. There were also some "spare" suits of SM armour that yes, we did have to have a play with and in...

    I would love to see more expansion of the area, but there is a lot of infrastructure work that needs to be sorted as well before that can happen - not least with the water and drains that we know about...

    While sorting boxes in the garage I went into my cans of primer box and found a Chaplain, Inceptor Squad, Reiver Squad, Aggressor Squad, Intercessor Squad, Hellblaster squad, I think a suppressor squads ** can't see these anywhere online but they flying dudes with long cannons and a Space Marine Captain. That id assembled and put ready to prime and forgot for.. about 5 years

    None of them have bases or flight stands so need to acquire those but I think that's a hell of a lot of models I'd just forgot I own... *** Hangs head in hame**

    I've got the two dreadnaughts in my basket, and green primer, but now I need to hut down more dark angel transfers the upgrade kit doesn't give me enough to do all the above.

    yeah since they have got Factory 2 and the 3 other units at the estate they have more space, but sadly thats been taken up by more production and management spaces, so the gaming hall has the store on 2 sides, Bugmans on the third, and im not sure whats behind the castle wall, but expanding that way means getting rid of the castle wall, which is going to be messy even at the best of times.

    the room is also awful acustically, with stone floor, walls and and bare metal roof its BADLY in need of something to reduce echo's, especially on busy days

    Does anyone else want to look at re-booking a table or changing venue ? i will need to pop down sometime soon as i still have the bike parts, plus i also want to pick up a second ( legal) Stompa

    I'm happy either seeing if Element have a free table (as @Kehoe says) and/or moving the date. Might give Element a ring later to gauge table availability.

    If you End up at Element Games I'd be dropping out as much as it's a nice shop. it's to small and it triggers my anxiety it feels claustrophobic,

    I am fine with altering the date. Tbh I was only taking models for other ppl I don't think my head would of let me pick the game up I'm easily overwhelmed and even more so in a crowded place id more be there as a supplier and background.
