[heretical post about a tabletop wargame that isn’t Warhammer] Wave 2 units for StarCraft tabletop miniatures game have landed on shelves, and Archon have now released the unit & tactics cards. I’ve only looked at the Protoss stuff so far, but holy balls they’re bloody powerful. Zeratul absolutely kicks ass. I played a few games of 40K a couple of years back, but they change the rules every 5 bloody minutes, so I’ve no idea which edition we were playing. But I’ve played a couple of games of StarCraft TMG with my brother now, and I’m starting to get the hang of the rules. It’s well designed, they’ve implemented some of the RTS mechanics quite well. Like the supply mechanic that limits how many units you can deploy in each round, and the alternating turns which better match the pace of the RTS game. I’m looking forward to getting more units released, especially wave 4 which is supposed to be the first flying units (Banshee for Terrans, Mutalisk for Zerg, Scout for Protoss). Battering out the Nu some more, currently stuck stripping the gold plating off the arms/head parts, gives me chance to go fly in AC tho so I'm not complaining too much.
tbh I was lucky to find one; because of the silly **** price of it not many people are stocking it, altho I saved a few quid going aftermarket on the lighting kit as Bandai can eat **** if they think I'm paying £140 for 5 ****ing leds
