Sorry I haven't responded earlier - I haven't been doing much bit-teching lately - but many thanks for the Orks! What a gent.
has anyone got the relm of battle ? ( the GW plastic battleboard ) i was thinking of getting it when money is a little more abundant... any thoughts ?? i also hope forgeworld re-introduce there 40k city fight buildings, they looked amazing
Only see one Krell looked fine, could have been a bad batch, its hard to know really without seeing GW's feedback from their manufactuing lines to see how they improve the casts etc. Have a look at whats new today as theres 2 space wolf armies on their, one a darker blue and the other a lighter one. Proably wont see Forge Worlds city fight buildings return as GW has their cities of death buildings out but may come back have too see.
Brillaint will have a look when I get home. Yea finecast is pretty crap, took me two krell models ( got to keep the damaged one) to get enough good parts to make a usable model. Thats the main reason why I dont like it.
Finecast is better then the metal models, alot easier to work with. New WD has been leaked no Nids/Necrons, just Necron Battleforce. Warhammer gets another tower, only 40k is the 25th anniversiery model crimson fist captin, most of the WD is for lotr where there scrapping most of the books for 6 new ones + finecast models for lotr.
I quite like the leaked pics of some of the LOTR models, especially the easterlings always wanted an easterling army back when I played LOTR, must resit the shiney. Got some pots of vallejo liquid gold paints this week, absolutely amazing covers like a dream in one coat and is very smooth. Just takes alot of stirring / mixing before use since theres soo much pigment they tend to separate out abit.
I know I've said it before, but the Screamer Killer is such a classed model that still looks fantastic to this day. Personally, I still prefer them to the modern carnifex models, despite not being as detailed. Gotta love Mark Gibbons artwork;
I'm not a fan of the old school carnifexes. Dunno why, they just don't appeal to me. Well, looks like this month will be another quiet one for me. 25th anniversary model, yes, but the rest I'm just not interested in. Wake me when Black Templars get a new codex, or when Bretonnians get a new one. Since the brets didn't sell on ebay, I'm taking it as a sign that I should stick with Fantasy, at least until the new bret book lands. Although, I am looking at my list again now and seeing me as 1888 points, which means I need to take another set of knights..
I will eventually replace them but when I just picked up 2 for £6 I thought I might as well have a brood of 3 of them until I upgrade. The new ones look sooo easy to mod in to other creatures.
I do like the new models... mine is built and primed, just haven't gotten around to painting it is all. There is just something about the old school SK's that I really like.
So i'm about half way through the ogre boss , all basecoats done and washes applied , now for the fun stuff , finding this one really tough btw.....
No it's the same one, once i cleaned up the model with a stiff brush it didn't look so bad so i stuck with it , the club in the right hand has been pinned and glued back together , also managed to snap off the little round circle on his helmet so thats glued on as well... i haven't assembled the toothy standard to the model yet , i may have a go at resculpting the missing tooth , i managed to put a very fine pin into the hanging skeleton on the standard and glue it back on so thats also fixed now.
Awesome model built one over christmas with magnetised options, very very cool. Now to get around to painting it lol
I'm afraid you are going to have to go somewhere unpleasant if you want the Babybel... There are probably about 5 bits of crusader in there, Pretty much everything else is just a big old mash up of bits. There's a bunch of Devastators to put together plus some BT bits, some grey knight parts left over from making my sword brethren, a venerable dread (working on something funky for that at the mo), some scout bits and that's about it. It's mostly just bits. The crusader itself is going to be something a bit more than a regular one as well. I will post up some pics when I make progress on the changes.
