I absolutely love Call Of Duty: World At War and Mafia II. While I'm not such a blinkered fanboy that I'm immune to their shortcomings, they are both damn fine games - at least in my eyes. So, what games fit the bill for you? Or is it just me who's the champion of lost causes?
Im a big fan of some indy games, i like the quirky-ness and the different approach/design. But ALL my friends hate the smaller games and are only really interested in the big titles and shiny graphics. Its a shame because imo they're missing out on some quality games, which could change how they think about gaming, but not being willing to try them means its their their loss.
I love Supreme Commander 2. I've played about 80 hours on the MP skirmish mode according to Steam. I just love the game. I also think Call of Duty: World at War is the best of the CoD series bar none. The singleplayer was the closest to being in a real war I think I've ever come. Absolutely spellbinding stuff.
I'm glad there's another SupCom2 fan on the forums. I'm not a big online player since I'm not that great at RTS games. Played one ranked online match on SupCom1 and barely won (well, it's hard to say. I beat his initial T1 push then rushed his commander with T2 MMLs). The singleplayer against the computer is fun, however. Some people say they dumbed it down, but it's still a good challenge for me and allows for a great no-pressure RTS experience that's hard to get in other games. Also loved World at War! Had buddy who did the co-op campaing with me a lot and we had a blast. Online co-op is one of my favorite things in a game. We also played Resident Evil 5 which had it. Nazi Zombies was another fun aspect of it, certainly an interesting take on zombie survival games.
How could I forget Crysis! Also +1 for SupCom, although I've only ever played the first. The original C&C's were good also. Tiberium wars was pro, although many at the time were preferring Red Alert!
^^ Love, Love, Loved Saboteur hmmm, apparently minecraft, but also Fallout 3, and Fallout new vegas..... seems like they are all getting lots of hate lately
I hate modern WoW purely because it's a totally different game to the one it used to be, which I loved. Besides, it was really bad for me to keep playing it. It got to the point where I actually shifting things around in my life so I could make raids etc. Learnt a valuable lesson there and I'll never do it again! On topic - EVE. I loved it for the short while I was playing whereas I couldn't convince a single friend to even try it. Then again you have to be a little masochistic to enjoy EVE, it's bloody complex and I only scratched the surface in 6 months.
the game came out too soon after the first l4d but most of the people actually love this game don't they ?
http://armagetronad.net/ http://www.bgmod.com/ http://modsbylaz.hugelaser.com/ If you only count normal retail games?... Tomba for PSX, Ehrgeiz for PSX, Super Magnetic Neo for Dreamcast, and it seems like I was the only one out of my friends that could play through Final Fantasy VI-IX..
