    Hey guys,
I'm looking for a headset (for gaming) with a mic that can be removed/hidden/retracted so that I can use as regular headphones. I kind of mind going out in public with a gaming headset because it just looks weird with a mic hanging out. Any recommendations?

ps. My price around 40usd. I'm in the US.

Try Steelsound, I have a head set from them that has a retractable mic boom, its a few years old but are still available. They have a very good sound and the earpieces fit over your ears which means they are very comfortable with prolonged use.

I have the 5H v2 model, here is a link for info only as its a UK site.

    Hey thanks for the replies.
I can get steelseries siberia in the US :D But it's all out of my price range (they all cost at least 65usd). Are there cheaper ones out there or is this the base price for the kind of headset I'm looking for?

Ahh... mine are 99.99 retail, but i got the red ones on overstock sale price for 69.99... Zalman have a good 5.1 headset for around 50 dollars, and it has an external mic, so it isn't attached, it just clips to your shirt... it's awkward at first, but it works, and it's not attached
