Hello! Year after year I was using no-name headsets with mic and finally most of them are about to die. So I decided to invest in to in since I listen to music a lot and sometimes I am unable to use my speakers so I must have decent headphones. I'd get myself Sennheiser, I'd really do but the problem that I also love to play some game using TeamSpeak or talk over skype with friends and stuff. I couldn't find anything what would suit me like those two headsets:
    1. http://en.store.creative.com/headphones-headsets/sound-blaster-tactic3d-alpha/437-20154.aspx

    2. http://en.store.creative.com/headph...nal-series-gaming-headset-mkii/437-18703.aspx

I try to do some re-search before I buy any kind of stuff for myself, so Fatal1ty has ability to brake mic quite easy, because it's made out of the some plastic and rubber, so it can brake in that place between rubber and the plastic. From other reviews.. Well, audio quality should be nice. However, no freaking reviews which would include mic tests!

Tactic3D Alpha, again, no mic tests, managed to find one video on youtube saying that it's way too quiet! Headset for over 50eu and having low quality mic?

So, I am confused right now. I like those removable mics because you can remove them and enjoy your drum'n'bass right from nokia 5530XM in the trip or so...

I am looking for people which own one of these headsets and can share some experience. I know there're also Tactical3D Sigma version, but I'd say it's too expensive already. Maybe you guys any other good headsets to offer that you use? :wallbash:

How about getting those Sennheisers and buying a desktop mic as well?

The mic? Not sure what 3 euros gets you, but I use an $8 mic and my voice comes through perfectly clear through Skype and in games.

I saw a topic about gaming headset and I was sure to see you here DOCO .

More seriously, I agree with as I am using a good old plantronic desktop mic (costed me 12€, 10 years back :D).

I always thought they are peace of junk. And they look odd, anyway.. Speaking with friends on TS, I found out that Razer Carcharias Headset and ROCCAT™ Kave 5.1 (in combo with one of X-Fi Titanium sound cards) has just awesome mic quality, and well, as they say, sound coming out from these headphones is pretty epic too. I don't want to over pay for the name and the price is kinda too high for me.

But yet, thank you for that idea. Time to look for some desktop mic then.

I'm not a fan of desktop mics, however sennheiser do the PC350 headset which is a gaming headset with the mic.

I have a set and until the mic stopped working they are absolutely cracking. I now use the £30 creative Fatalities which are ok But not a patch on the sennheisers. I know a lot of guys who swear by the steel series of headsets as well though I've never tried them myself. A word of warning about the noise cancelling headphones as they can make you prone to shouting in game and TS/Vent when you don't realise it and get you into trouble with the other half!

Those are cool looking cans, someone else here (a mod I think) has those and he likes them.

    Hope you enjoy :thumb:

Indeed, Sennheiser PC350 seems like a perfect headset, but I don't have cash for it and imo, it's bit too big investment for music/gaming, at least in my country. :hehe:

That's a good one! I'll keep that in mind.

no worries mate, the Sennheiser's are kick ass but like you say expensive. I worked a couple of hours for a week (on a mates job, and mates rates) after my normal job to afford them. And I did a really nice job too :)

but if you don't mind me asking what is your budget? cos it might be close to mine seen as I'm now having trouble with my creatives. Mind you, the thing the Sennheiser's had is i could tell where sod that was shooting at me was, even if i had my back to them I could pinpoint the sound, far left, mid left, low right, high etc.... that's the difference...I'd want to turn my head!

And another but 'cos that's talking pure sound quality, the creative fatalities are good enough, very far from a bad headset but I think i might try one of the steel series next, though I know a lot of guys who play very well with the Fatalities (and the old version not the new pro one), you could do lot worse...

    AArrgg!
