Clown Prince Sad to see the guy hit rock bottom like this. During the height of his playing career, he was certainly one of Englands top internationals, if not THE top. Unfortunately he will probably be best remembered for what happened off the pitch, rather than on it.
He should have been sectioned after that Fog On The Tyne stint.... Jokes aside I hope he pulls through. He's always been one of my fave footy celebs.
I know this consultant neurologist. I think he can be a real patronising asshole (like House, but without the black humor). He shouts at staff and throws a paddy when he doesn't get his way. But when it comes to dificult to control epilepsy, I have absolutely no hesitation referring a patient to him. In that area, he knows his stuff. What does this teach us? Just because someone is talented, doesn't mean they can't be an asshole.
football is a game of money, funded by everyone ((tax money, tickets, advertising, merchansiding) except those that get the earnings (fifa and co.) give every player a ball and it might actually get interesting enough for me to not completly ignore it.
