I recently bought a cheap Gameboy Micro, and its an awesome compact console for when traveling light (when even a DSlite is too big). The only drawback I have is carrying all the cartridges with me. I've been looking around and seen lots of interesting things about "Flash Carts" that use SDcards to play game ROMs. Only thing is I have no idea where I could buy one from safely, or even if they would function with a GBMicro, does anyone have any experience of these products? Cheers.
what your looking for is a slot2 type backup cart, these work on all GBAs info from manu, here http://www.m3adapter.com/ the M3 SD adaptor sounds like what you need, you can put all your LEGALLY owned carts onto an SD card and 2gb sound be enuf games to keep you busy. I'd buy from here http://www.divineo.net/
Yeah, I have a load of old GBA carts... Is it legal to download roms of carts you already own, or do you have to rip your own carts? edit: Oh and thanks for handy response! much appreciated
Does anything like that exist for DS games? although currently I only have 3, when I have more I can see carrying them all being a hassle.
I think you can get some for the DS, http://www.gameboy-advance.net/nintendo_ds/nds_flash_card.htm seems more complicated though
yes. thank you mord you can get the 1gb cards for about 6-7 quid now and the m3 simply for about 30, even if you ship them in from the US.
I take it the M3 Simply does mp4 video / mp3 music / Ebooks as well as Games? If so may get one for my DS as well as my Supercard for my micro
I've just ordered myself a G6 lite 4G unit for my Gameboy Micro. It's a tab expensive when it comes to the price/size ratio but I think it'll be well worth it. Straight out of the box,, it supports just about any media format you can think of as well as included emulation for homebrew NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, and a couple more older consoles. If this thread is still up running next when when I get it, I'll post a mini review.
