I read http://www.bit-tech.net/review/331/ and I was so impressed I decided to go out and buy one (a GeCube 9550XT Platinum Edition that is). However, even though I live in the UK I can not find these online! :wallbash:

Where should I go to purchase this bad boy (online or off - I live in North London)? I am in need of a budget card to replace the on board graphics in my Shuttle SN41G2 and this seems like the best option for me!

    Please help
    Thanks in advance

:( Your onboard gfx are GF4MX, enhanced GF2 so firmly DX7 and a fair deal slower than the DX8 GF3. As I'm sure you're aware the GeCube 9550XT-PE is their own enhanced version and not an official ATI spec. The 9550 is a tad slower than the 9600, SE versions are both a lot slower. If you can't find GeCube's 9550XT-PE then good replacements would be a 9600 or ideally a 9600Pro (great o/c'er, should surpass 9600XT speeds). If you wanted you could try nVidia's cards, FX5600 and up, but I'd suggest the Radeon routes myself.

welcome to the forums mate, I've just spoken to the supplier of the card and they stock them over at gladiator computers. Highly recommended store :)

:D I've never used Gladiators but I have heard good things about them. GeCube 9550XT-PE (9550 Extreme) £59.53 ... same price as Sapphire's std 9550! A 9600 is £65 (Sapphire) while the 9600XT are still over £100, so if you could afford that it would make a HUGE amount more sense to get an awesome 9800Pro.

    'Normal' 9550 = 250/400
    Gecube 9550E = 400/500
    'Normal' 9600 = 325/400
    'Normal' 9600Pro = 400/600
    'Normal' 9600XT = 500/600

 All the cores are virtually identical apart from the clock speed, so the chances of getting around 500mhz core is far from impossible for all these cards. RAM is limiting though, so the 9500XT-PE and 9600Pro/XT have a clear advantage. It would be interesting if a BIOS flash would be a possibility, as the review mentions the 9550 BIOS may use low voltage or even tight RAM timings to inhibit o/c'ing a little.
