I'm only 5000 off at stock! Woo!

    But seriously. HwMonitor needs fixing.
My processor is at 16.5 idle, not 4.

Although holy crap. Under Cool & Quiet (0.95V, 1.4ghz) my processor is apparently only 1.5 degrees hotter than the intake temp.

It's alarming when scrolling down a webpage causes a four degree jump, though.

Okay. It's not a good sign when Overdrive goes into the red at 1.5 volts, and only goes as high as 1.59V before it refuses to let you select any higher.

    Bios overclocking it is.

Seems this processor's thermal floor on air is 15 degrees, though. Getting 35 degrees max, however. Makes it almost worth not being able to feel my toes.

    Edit:

Nope. This board will not do 5ghz, nor will it do a 2775 mhz HT and NB speed.

Seems I'm more or less at the limit. That was fast.

I probably won't get chance to fully OC my rig for a week or two as Im going to be busy till the new year. Going to double check my settings and try and get it above 4.5ghz and see what happens.

Sweet. I'll bench this thing again soon as I've got 1600mhz memory. See if I can't climb a bit higher up that leaderboard.

Managed to get this thing stable at 4.125ghz, though. Seems to be happy at the moment, doesn't go above 47 too. So i've got a nice buffer before that thermal cutout.

Well for some odd reason I got a BSOD after double checking my settings and increasing the OC from 4.5 to 4.7.

I loaded Optimized defaults as I think I will leave the OCing to the big boys and girls :)

Just got the 990X up and running and did a quick bench on my first boot @ 4.5GHz - ignore the frequency reported by Geekbench (no idea where it gets 4.69 from...)

    15205

A LOT more to come from me once I've tweaked this biatch to the nines :thumb:

It's more a case that it passes everything I throw at it, then I yell "Woot! It's stable!", then it crashes and refuses to boot for a while.

As is; I'm not That far off stock voltages. I'm up a touch on NB and HT voltages, but that's because they're higher than normal, at 250 base HT speed.

Processor's only gulping down 0.175 extra volts at the second, so I'm not going to fiddle. Might whack it down another .025 later to see if it's happy at that.

    Oh man that sucks.

They'd best give you more than a refund for the delivery for this crap.

Couriers don't give a toss because they're self employed most of the time. It's why I have so much difficulty with DPD half the time.

I really should try and find out which of those two modules is dud... I could probably up my score a touch more by having more than 8GB in the system when I bench it...
