    Trying everyday overclock settings

    4.59ghz = 10659

    Try some higher clocks. Really wish I had some good memory now.

    4.79ghz = 11009

    Hmmm... the board only gives me voltages up to 1.3500. Why is that? This is an unexpected wall. :(

    That sucks. A quick read of your manual suggests there's not much you can do about it either.

    Yep. I'm upset. I'll stick with it for now and upgrade memory first. Then I suppose I'll do some mobo investigation.

    It's the most I've ever spent on a board. Not very happy about it either now. No sli or xfire connectors supplied and now this.

    At least it's taught me to do a bit more research on user experience. I might email MSI about it when I can be bothered and ask why that is. I was hoping to hit 5ghz maybe for a one time bench. It's real cold in here and I haven't seen temps above 45c running geekbench, cinebench, cpc bench.

    I'll be upping the base clock now on my everyday to see what I can get from memory now, as its dog mess for overclocking; the proper fun has been ruined :waah: Hopefully my everyday can end up in the 4.7ghz region.

    Been having a play around this morning, I think I might be able to get a stable clock @ 3800, from the 2400 base. Having done some more research I think 3800 is the limit of these on air, with anything over 200blk needing some water.

    Anyways, on a interesting note, I run GB @ 2400 stock:

    One hell of a long-ass quote. That's virtually Necro material.

    Side note; that thing can only achieve 95W cooling, so it's useless for everyone in here.

    This is goddamn demotivating, though. The EKWB block for my NB isn't powerful enough to keep it in check. It runs much colder now, but it will still frikkin' overheat if I try and push over 2700mhz NB frequency. Rage.

    It's cooler, but either the TIM isn't strong enough, or the block is just too simple for it to transfer heat at 2800 or above. It's just a couple of posts on a copper plate, not anywhere near as elaborate as I need.

    [IMG]

    VRM block is simple enough, but both the NB and The SB are the same, just different tops.

    That's a nice price. And the good thing is, if it's a C1 you can bench it then ask Intel for a replacement with a C2, which some people are reporting can be done.

    HELP!
    Need some advise on the E5620's on the SR2, having trouble getting fully stable clocks over 3.6ghz. Does anyone else use these?

    I can post my BIOS settings, but not sure how many folks use SR2's might need to forum search elsewhere?
