Hi, the other day I bought a Acer x3810 hoping that I would be able to play some pc games at a decent FPS but turns out that It came with a crappy intel mother board card so now I want to upgrade but since I have a slimline pc. I don't know what to get so i looked some up and I found a geforce 9500 low profile on tigerdirect.com so can I get that with 220 watt power supply or do I have to think again. P.S. Typing on iPod touch so sorry for grammar
oh dear 9500 is rubbish id look at a 4670 maybe its cheap and can handle games i think you should be able to get low profile. granted not at high res and you would have to tone some settings down but it will run and doesnt require a 6xPCI-e connector. if ya cant find low proflie id switch out the case for cheap full size one
I know you can get a 9800gt thats low profile but i think it needs a 6 pin PCI-e power connector and a bigger PSU than 220W, But that would be the fastest low profile card currently available i think. How about a 9600GT i know you can get low profile cards that dont need extra power connectors and are a little bit better than the 4670 iirc. What sort of budget do you have anyways?
I don't think you're going to find anything amazingly good which is a low profile card.. It's going to be a case of trawling the webs to find one I think.
Well today is the day I'm going to order the card so I don't what I should get I want the 9500 or the 9600 but people are saying that you need a 350 watt for both so is that true
This Review show total system power draw of the card i listed above as around 200W, but thats with a QX9650 CPU which im guessing is alot more power hungry than whatever yours is. So in theory you could get away with it, but its difficult to know whether your PSU is up to the job.
So do you think I should go with the radeon HD 4670 or the geforce 9500 which one is better and which one could my power supply handle
