Anybody have thoughts on this motherboard bundle, for a starter for a home built pc.
It all comes in one box
I've googled it but not found anything.

""AMD DUAL CORE 4200 ATHLON PROCESSOR EXTREME MOTHERBOARD BUNDLE PLUS MENORY

    1GB DDR2 667 MEMORY INCLUDED
    ATHLON 64 X2 DUAL CORE 4200
    GEFORCE 7050M-M MOTHERBOARD
    PERFORMANCE HEAT SINK
    NVIDIA SERIES G FORCE GRAPHICS""

    Cheers.

Um... you probably didn't find anything because the hardware you listed is quite old (a couple years old maybe?). I'm not even sure that those parts are still manufactured. Unless there's a reason why you need stuff that old, I would suggest that you go to the market for used components that are newer.

DDR2? That's at least five years old. Considering the Athlon X2, it's actually from circa 2005-2006, so it's somewhere around 6-8 years old.

How much is he asking for that? I wouldn't even take such junk for free.

    What's your budget?
What parts of the PC do you need?
What do you do on your home PC?

I wouldn't really touch that hardware, it's at least 5 years old.

92 quid, with 4x more memory, better graphics performance and newer CPU cores (and drivers that are supported in modern OS'!).

While it would prob be fine for light htpc duties with a suitable graphics card I would want a core duo set up at least :)

    Cheers boys.
My present pc is an Acer Aspire T180-UB7Z which cost me £400 many years ago.
So my budget will be the same, £400.

The parts i have now are~
http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3967#ov that i got off ebay, used.

A new Windows XP Pro' 32bit
    Keyboard, mouse.screen, and speakers.
If my m/b is not up to it, i can go with Bindibadgi's suggestions.

So its everything i need for a micro tower with that motherboard as a start point.
    If that motherboard is suitable.
I would like to use this case.
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380540302536?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2661

The pc will be used for normal household uses. No gaming, just browsing, emails youtube, forums, photos. etc.

    Cheers

Just an alternate suggestion, for just those uses I would get a tablet, whether it be an ipad or whatever, as they are far better browsing the internet etc. Also, tapatalk is a pretty cool forum app.

    Ipad is £400
    Microsoft surface is £400.

    Cheers MSHunter, and others.

It seems from some of your answers that its a waste of time for me to built a pc for just normal day to day use.
But i realy want to get the satisfaction of building my own, so can someone please look, and tell me if my list will fit and work ok.

    Cheers.
