Not entirely surprised, Steam crashed on release of HL2, and this is a bigger launch than HL2 I reckon. It'll get sorted in time. Still miffed and still wanna play tho....

 

anyone else having problems with autorun from the cd?! ARGGHHHH

 

Nice one EA can't even log into activate bf3 but I can log into Origin wtf!

 

i cant even get the cd to work!?!? Why the **** did i stay up and drive to game for this?!!?

 

All i got from BF3 so far is this in much bigger version :


Not sure if it was worth the price .

 

Finally working but f**k you EA and your s****y origin software and battlelog website needed to run bf3.

 

I wonder how can it work for you, when now it won't even try to activate, starting the game simply throws you at the battlelog page with the information that there is issue activating the game. Oh well, i guess i will go to sleep and try to play later tomorow, against all the guys with 15+ levels and many unlocks.

Can anyone help me with autorun issues?!

The autorun menu comes up, then the dvd drive slows down, speeds up, slows down, and if i try to click it, it crashes?!? ARGH!!!!

 

Can you right click on the drive? If you can go into the files and find the setupexe,if there is one,if not put your key into oragin and dl it instead

That was fun

Feels quite different to BC2 and a bit more like BF2, will take a few hours before it feels natural. Everything was set to High on 1920x1080 and seemed to run ok most of the time (few fps drops), ultra would be nice but will need a new graphics card for that.

I had a fun couple of hours. Maybe I'm just too tired but it's not quite as jaw dropping as I hoped it would be. I am playing with everything cranked to max, and it looks good, but just not THAT good, especially after playing lots of Crysis 1/2. They seem to be obsessed with having everything very bright which does kind of look like real life sometimes... but the rest of the time it just looks like a game with the gamma turned up. I also don't like the crap on my 'visor', and no leaning too, bleh. The plane bit was super boring (looked great on the take off bit tho), but the 'flying' on rails sucked, and it reminded me of Operation Wolf from the 1980's.... I kind of kept getting cravings to just go back to Arma 2, I not only love that game's gameplay, but I find the graphics to be as good as it gets when everything is cranked.

Tomorrow I will try out the multiplayer though, and that's where I'm assuming (hoping!) this game will really shine. It's only really the multiplayer I bought it for. Glad I can play it cranked tho! That's the main thing I wanted to see.

 

ITS AMAAAHHZING!

Taking off in a jet was incredible, truly feeling the jet engine rumble! And seeing planes knocked out of the sky in front of you, frickin brilliant!

 

oh yes, audio is top notch in this game. i have an old set of 5.1 with onboard sound and it is GREAT.

just remember folks, the Campaign button is for the graphic demo and manual. its not the real game.

 

So far I don't like the campaign. Kinda sucks and the VO/Story so far is terrible. Don't care about anything happening or the characters. Doesn't help that he looks like a crack head.

I set up my 360 controller for jet controls and it works great. Left stick for roll/pitch, right stick for yaw, X shoots, B is countermeasures, Y reload and... forget what A does. LB for chase cam toggle. RT for throttle LT for break. Just need to set up a spot button.

 

You jelly, perfect game and ace pin. Snipers are right where they should be, godly in the hands of the good and a turd in everyone elses. (BTW I'm not saying I'm good, just lucky )


BTW the M249, IRNV (night vision), suppressor and fore-grip = best gun in the game. Silent, deadly and can see in the dark (day isn't as good but still works)

 

Urgh, Amazon didn't dispatch until around 11pm Last night for me, but they're still telling me to expect delivery today and they've emailed me the DLC code today.

It better be waiting for me after work or I'll be mighty pissed off, considering my pre-order was 5 months old and I'm pretty sure they "guaranteed delivery on the 28th."
