I was going to play some BF3 last night but when I saw that the server was empty (as well as the 2 ZiiP ones) I thought meh and played Skyrim instead.

Random servers seem to be fine for me though, maybe I'm getting lucky when picking them.

 

Unless there are server rules against using those weapons, seeing those messages would only encourage me to use them more

 

This is why I am always without failure on BSM Servers!!!

Always has an admin on ship and if needed you can call one from the chat window!

Importantly promotes teamwork! Which is the whole reason behind Battlefield 3!

 

I does get sickening when you see them in the kill cam and that's the only weapon they are using.

 

the server needs players to get it started. fair enough when it's zero players. but if you do see a few on the server, join in and help get it started!

many of the admins used the christmas break to visit friends and families. we'll be back fully admin'd soon.




the post-kill style killcam does brings rage to people when the person uses the same weapon all the time. just ignore those whiners and enjoy the game.



on an unrelated question: how do i hover with F-35?
and how do i turn effectively with F-35? it seems to have a much much more effective airbreak that the lightest tap on it puts you hanging in mid-air.

 

Sound good, which one do you go on, two of them are called noob servers.

 

Given that the F-35 will go into hover mode at around the ~150 airspeed mark it makes doing any kind of sharp turn in the thing impossible. Also what I've noticed is once you go into hover mode it loses altitude from then on (if you choose to stay in hover mode) and the only way to regain altitude whilst hovering is to wait until it's near the ground for the landing gear to go down... which is pretty crappy if you ask me. The HUD also leaves little to be desired as well, shame really

Simply put... the Flanker will win against the F-35 in a dogfight every time. The only time this doesn't happen is if the Flanker pilot doesn't actually know what they're doing.

When you start losing altitude hit the afterburner as well as holding reverse thrust, this gives enough thrust to gain altitude without having to go back into normal flight. You only need to tap the afterburner just to correct every now and then. I've won so many dog fights by going into hover and letting the flanker fly by.

Really loving HC now. People die when you shoot them.

 

A few players on CPC can get iy started, three online the other day and some of us joined the randomers and then the server was full!!!

 

Need a microphone and mumble, have not bothered as of yet, can anyone reccomend a desktop mic, there is no way im replacing my headphones.

 

Ah yes I've seen people try this but it puts them in such a vulnerable position if the Flanker isn't close enough behind them. Don't get me wrong, winning a dogfight in a F-35 isn't impossible but like I said if the Flanker pilot knows what they're doing the F-35 doesn't stand a chance.

 

Any mic will do really, although I use a blue microphone yeti. It's more on the expensive side for mumble purposes but it looks pretty awesome and has excellent tech specs for its class. On the cheaper side of things, any cheap webcam will have a decent mic - the logitech ones are particularly good.

 

This will suit your needs nicely, I use it and its excellent quality for the money.

 

i use Logitech USB desktop mic, or whatever they are called. works pretty good, just need to remember to re-set default device when you unplug and plug it in.

thanks for the F35 tip, would be great if to be able to use it like a helicopter though. i keep thinking tilting forward will gain forward speed.

 

AH THE CO-OP INVITED AREN'T WORKING! Both myself and a friend have tried disabling AV but no luck, the pop up invite doesn't show

 

Ok guys, I have a problem has anyone installed the game from a retail release when they bought it via digital download? I messed up when I moved to SSD and have to start again. My cousin has a retail version atleast I think he does. Would this work to install the game even though I bought it digitally?

 

Yes, should do, will make you download the patches again though, wouldn't it be easier just to re download?

 

Anyone know if I can change my forums username?, I want to change it to my BF3 name. Cheers
