    Indeed, moving around quickly lessens the effect that it has on you. I've not been suffering from it much really except in close quarters combat, but I usually kit myself out with a shotgun for most of those maps.

    I haven't used the heavy brake at any stage and I'm not about to go tinkering with settings now, no need for it since I don't fly jets, I just shoot them down. The accuracy boost that AAA got has been immensely useful again all targets since once you get your first hit, you can track targets exceptionally well. Also very useful for long-range ground suppression when you see some of your own troops moving up on an area where you know there are infantry lying in wait.

    The increased performance in air vehicles has highlighted, again, the severe disadvantage that the Russian AA and AAA have on Caspian Border when played on Conquest Large. The Tunguska may have the ability to turn on the spot, but that is of little use when you need to get moving and having a solid backdrop behind you means that range finding by tanks and air is alot easier. Their static AA has much poorer line of sight in comparison to the US C-RAM as well. The LAV-AD has access to a much wider, open and relatively level area compared to the Tunguska, so when you're playing russian and trying to help out your sides air assets, you really need to be on the ball. The glare from the sun is barely a factor in it at all, though some may argue it to be, since you can just use the AA missiles as a tracking system.

    Jet rocket-pods absolutely dominate ground vehicles now - used to be that you had two jets in unison rocket strafing an AA with reactive. Post-patch I could take them out in one pass, rockets then minigun = boom. If you've got good jet pilots on your team the enemy team will not have any armour. Dogfights do take longer because of the minigun-vs-jets nerf, but good pilots aren't going to find it that much of an issue. Personally I like it because jets are good fun to pilot, but lots of complaints about it being a bit imbalanced.

    I actually went to try the heavy brake for the first time, but it doesn't seem to work. Have they disabled this now?

    Yep, heavy brake doesn't work on the Flanker/Hornet post-patch :(.

    I believe the F-35's 'heavy brake' is its 'hover' function. As for the A-10/Frogfoot, their heavy brake does not work either.

    Thankfully, thus far I've come across only 1 person who has managed to kill me with a jet (since patch) when I'm in AA. Tanks and Javelin teams have been my biggest problem, but few and far between.

    I can imagine the AA is a lot more powerful against jets in hardcore. The main problem most of the time is just spotting them so without the spotting mechanics in hardcore it'd be incredibly hard.

    Also the AA benefits a lot more from a lack of auto repair as it's much easier to repair with the torch than a jet is. You can probably scare most jets off with just a few hits.

    All the more reason for me to stick to normal :D

    The non-regen works both ways ;)

    Spotting is harder on some of the maps and I never stop rotating the damned turret unless I know I've nailed at least 2 air assets out of the sky. I've gotten to the stage where I just scan the sky and gauge how much I need to lead the target and guess the range and let fly with a few short bursts, often enough landing hits on the 2nd or 3rd volley.

    Some jets are slippery and would need 3 or 4 sustained burts, but if the afterburn straight up, then I have a problem. Jets or choppers doing strafing runs within 400m of me are guaranteed toast :D

    Noshahr Canals really shows the difference in how you can use the various assets. The Tunguska can shred most things that are available to the other team, except the AMTRAAC, that takes about 6-7 full salvoes of cannon fire. I had 2 rounds on Canals last night, first in the Tunguska, the other in the littlebird. First round I went 22-0 and took most things out of the sky thanks to the support of squad mates keeping an eye on cheeky engineers. We held them at the 2nd set of MCOMs. The next round was me in the Littlebird and nailed the Tunguska maybe ... 6, 7 times. Laser Painter and Guided Missiles is a lethal combination. I don't hose spawn areas though, I might do the odd pass on the attackers side of things, but rarely on the defenders side of the MCOM. Fairness and all that. Increased range for the Guided Missile via the painter and good use of line of sight and you can neutralise the Tuguska and save your team a load of ball ache.

    I've played maybe 10 rounds of normal and it's just not for me personally, so I can't say how the AAA compare.
