All prices in US are generally displayed without a sales tax. Now, depending how you buy your thing one of the following can happen :
1) brick & mortar shop - when paying you will be asked for the price of the item plus all the local sales taxes. You will still have $50 displayed in the shop at the item, but you will have to pay $50 + 0-12% sales tax at the register.
2) sale through the internet without sales tax - you will pay just the price of the item, and then you should pay your sales tax according to our local laws together with your income taxes.
3) sale through the internet with sales tax (company has presence in your country) - same as in the brick & mortar shop.

So in case of Origin store - no, US citizens don't have to pay the sales tax directly, they have to pay it with their other taxes.

 

So does this fall into option 2?

 

Yes, Origin is option 2; most of the US internet sales are option 2. The few exceptions falling in 3 are things like "Amazon has to pay sales taxes in this state because they have a warehouse there".

Half the fun of it is when something goes horribly wrong and crashes into the ground.

It's always fun to improvise and goomba stomp someone with a Helicopter when it comes down to it. Although It's only succeeded once so far...

 

I still have a fundamental issue with paying twice for the same thing.

 

Peer pressure won out and I bought premium........I say peer pressure I just took the plunge!

 

Just buy the DLC you want in that case. You might not even like the last two anyway.

I'm personally waiting for reviews of CQ, if its anything like Metro I'll just save the cash and get Armoured Kill and the other two on their own.

 

I managed to get it for 50 Brazilian real which is ~£16 that's what I call a win!

Tempted to do this, but I'm quite dubious about using a random proxy server. Anyone got a good tor one for brasil?

 

never used proxies before - what's the risk? that the proxy owner could get your ip and hack your system?
