Other General Battlefield 3 discussion thread

Those kinds of moments are definitely what makes Battlefield unique. I've had some amazing **** happen over the 300 hours.

Examples being;
- Seeing Dom bail out of a chopper and managing to swoop between him and the ground in a jet and roadkill him as he parachuted down. (I am RUBBISH in Jets)
- Getting knifed by Dweller and then suddenly turning the animation around so I knifed him
- Killing Draca with C4 while he was knifing me.
- Hitting 2 jets with one canister shot as they crossed paths - killing one and disabling the other. **MY FAVE**
- Killing 17 people in 25 seconds on metro with a Famas and some back rape.
- Launching a Jihad jeep in to the air and blowing up a helicopter taking off after repairing.
- Hitting a jet with an RPG as it swooped low.
- Various sniping people out of attack chopper moments.
- Loads more I probably forgot about.

THIS. IS. BATTLEFIELD!

 

That list is epic Digi. I will write my list this evening.

Some memorable moments for sure.

 

The only one I can think of atm si getting in a knife fight with someone and accidently throwning a grenade at our feet, turn to start running away from it only for the knife animation to start on me. Grenade goes off, he dies and somehow I'm still alive going "WTF jsut happened?". Only to get shot a second later.

I need to record on a regular basis, and just forget about it and not focus on regarding anything specific.

I play better when not trying to record something epic.

 

I need to get a setup for recording. Might pick your brains on mumble next time I'm on Dom.

 

Join the club, I'd love to get in to some recording - I did this back in the UT days but I have no idea what I'm doing with fraps.

 

I can link you too a better bit of software Draca found. Doesn't hog your system. Smooth recording. Only issue with the free version i have is PTT doesn't work so its open Mic recording. Paid version is 30 quid. Might buy it tonight actually.

All my latest videos have been recorded with it. Fraps can cause a FPS drop at times. After long periods of recording.

 

Is anyone else getting kicked by punkbuster within a minute or two of joining a server? I get kicked by PB on every server I try. I wasn't having this problem yesterday.

 

Moments.....hmmmm, im a bit of a troll to the opp team at times.

Getting a jet and roadkill'in snipers on firestorm, always hilarious!
Getting a chopper and roadkilling by slaming down on top of enemys (there a you tube video with sound affects from Mario that is hilarious) got to be careful you dotn kill urself.
Putting C4 over mates chopper (just 2 of us on server) challenging him to a chopper 1vs1 then just making him assplode XD
C4 the same tank at the same point (noob) about 10 times and he could not figure out WTF was happening lol

 

Haven't hopped on in a while. Might do so. Also, I'll decide whether or not premium is worth it based on AK.

Best things i've done? Knife digi about 40 times. Also of course trolling myself with the FAMAS.

 

Putting 3 mines down on the corners by the tunnel on metro to do some trolling by shouting them with the magnum as someone comes round the corner. Thought I had more so when I went to put down the 4th I instantly died realising I had automatically switch to the rpg blowing myself to kingdom come

My friend watched the whole thing and nearly wet himself laughing.

 

Running into my own grenades, blowing up my own C4 too early (premature..explosion? ), getting crunched by tanks, getting crunched by random debris, all par for the course in a fun game of BF3.

Of course some of the more fun bits are when I have a good recon that spots and I c4 the daylights out of the enemy. Oh the joys..

 

One more moment i am unable to process even now .

Close Quarters, i run up the stairs, then i realize people usually put a claymore there. So i slow down and look... and see a tank mine in front of me (with no one around for like half of the map). I was like . Then i picked it up and continued shooting anything that moved.

 

Wait can you pick up other people's claymores too? Even if you aren't support???

 

Epic, I mean epic lag tonight...

 

@GregTheRotter: no idea what i was at that monent. But you can try it - get slowly to one mine/claymore and watch for the "Press [R] to pick up" label. If it shows up, you can. If not, then not.

 

yeah go check the bf3 forums, something like 800 posts.

 

I've not being getting any lag at all. If anything it feels smoother for me, they must have changed something hence why not everyone is experience the lag.

 

It's been fixed since the day after the error. It was PB/EA Online mis-behaving.

Fantastic set of games last night guys, turned in to a late night! That Gulf of Oman game was epic and I will post it up when I get home from work. 45 kills with tank and 12k points, so many jets/helis/vechiles shot down/up and 77-20 scoreline or something in the end on top of spot-on teamplay by us = epic!
