Knowing EA it will have even more DLC at a greater cost.

After watching that trailer I've came to the following conclusion:

I need to play BF3 again, just got my account back so might have to try out the last 2 expansions I've missed

Actually i think most of it seemed to be to do with forum tweaks and the odd thing here and there. There may be some groundwork for the dlc though, game servers were systematically being updated as well.

Think I've discovered something about the hip-fire crosshairs. They are relative to the game world and not as I thought you display res. I just upped it from 82 to 100, and they look a lot smaller - yay me.

Is that your fov you're talking about mate? Any advantages/disadvantages to it? I think i'm at default of 70? 74? Something like that.

Edit. Mind you i'm only at 1680*1050, i may have a tinker but anything too high may make it go funky. Mind you a fov of 10 may be good for sniping lol.

A small thing, but I'm looking forward to some epic formations flying videos once Endgame is out. 24 aircraft flying cascade maneuvers... drool.

Yep FoV. lol 10, that would be bad, you can do it, but you would be shooting with inaccurate hip-fire. I saw a great video once on what happened, 120 is too high, it's a big fish eye and ads sights/scopes are unaffected by any change.

The benefits of a higher FoV are that you can see more to the sides and top/bottom when unzoomed, where before the stuff that is now being rendered was off screen. So this is purly for CQC and a side effect of the dynamic crosshairs being tighter.

Downsides are there is more world to render, and sighting those far off glimpses of players will become increasingly (with higher FoV) trickier when unzoomed.

Also, when you change FoV your sensitivity will break. It is possible to compensate by calulating the difference between your old and new FoV, and applying that difference to the sensitivity. Example, I went from 82 to 100, 100/0.82=121.9512195121951*original sens(0.204070)=below

    File "PROF_SAVE_profile":
    Code:
    GstRender.FieldOfView 100.000000
    GstInput.MouseSensitivity 0.248866
edit- tired can't explain better right now

Thanks for that mate, i see what you're getting at. Tbh i've never sat down and done more than minimal tinkering to my fov and sensitivity.

It should be something i should do. I presume you're running fov100 on 1920x? I've been considering picking up a 23/24" monitor, at the mo my 22" is ok but not the best, it's tricky enough spotting very distant movement on it and i think too large an fov would be even more of a challenge.

Then again, that may just be down to my ageing eyes

I really need a new SSD..

I've got Windows, Office, Adobe and BF3 and about 300Mb of free space left after that Endgame download.

Oh well, mowing people down on dirtbikes looks pretty jokes.

Edit: There is now also a 5th set of MCOM's on Damavand Peak, out in the main quarry part:

Ha ha, exact same situation dude! And the worst thing is, SSD performance drops off when they get full up.

I loved 2142... shame it never really caught on :(

Titan mode was one of the best game types ever.. the perfect combo of conquest and rush.

they said when bf3 came out that they really wanted to put 2142 on to the new engine, and they have dropped hints about it before.

    CALLING IT NAOW:
The upcoming BF game to come out end of this year will be 2142 in frostbite.

does not make any sense them making another modern BF game so close after BF3 + DLC's... it makes perfect sense for it to be 2142!! :D ! :D

I agree this would make sense and be amazing.

Literally take all the things from bf2142, add the upgrades to gameplay from BF3 and tada awesome sci-fi game

    That would be awesome!

    But!

They would need to upgrade a few things before I shelled out for another game.

i)They'd have to up the player numbers.
Battlefield 2 can handle 128 players right now, so did Battlefield 3 in the non-official servers that popped up in the Beta. Both ran stable, I want super-sized 128 player (or larger) cluster ****s in the next BF game, it's been 64 for over a decade now. More vehicles, more planes, more everything.

ii) The Frostbite level damage needs an upgrade.
If there's going to be Titans available, I want to be able to drive them into sky scrapers and knock them down, completely changing the layout of a level.
Think how Epicentre or Gulf of Oman would change if those buildings could come down at any moment, leaving you either going over or round (or through)) gigantic piles of rubble.
Also, the potential to stop tanks by dropping buildings on them.

If it's got either of those (or at least a solid attempt at) then I'd be buying. But I certainly won't shell out of for BF3 with a sci-fi skin pack, even if it did have Titan mode.
