This just in: Exit poll suggests Britain is on course for a hung parliament.

David Dimbleby is reading out the results.

    SNP: 34
    Lib Dems: 14
    Plaid Cymru: 3
    Greens: 1

Wow Corbyn could do better than Brown in 2010 if Exit poll is correct

So, June 8th really could be the end of May. Taking bets for the next Prime Minister, I'm putting a fiver on Boris the Blonde.

On a related note, if Amber Rudd loses her seat that will make me a very happy man indeed, I truly, deeply and sincerely despise that woman.

Who did Teresa Mays make up this morning she looks like Edie Izzard.
Looking at the results so far the first thing that immediately springs to mind is what an absolute mess she has made of things.
No need to call a snap election.
    Appalling manifesto.
Refusal to debate live on TV.

Strong and stable has certainly taken on a whole new meaning.

Her other tagline still works though 'coalition of chaos' - Tories and the DUP.

Still a bit more workable than LAB/SNP/L.DEM/PC/G. At least the DUP share a lot of ideological ground.

Kronos, I thought of you when I looked at the results when I got up...
So, Alex Salmond has lost his seat and the SNP's deputy leader Angus Robertson has been defeated.
A bit of a hit for the Scottish Nationalist [One] Party [State]!

Are the Conservatives in Self Destruct mode?
They've held 2 'ill advised' votes in as many years, or are Russian moles at work? :worried::eeek:

I have been severely disappointed in the distinct lack of spin from the conservatives with the bigwigs declining to be interviewed on the BBC once it was obvious that the reason May had made a complete mess if the 2hoie campaign.

Good to see the SNP losing seats in Scotland - that should kill the chances of IndyRef2 :D

Funny to see the Conservatives gamble completely backfiring in the rest of England  , but unfortunately that does make the government weak - and rudderless.

We are going to get absolutely f***ed in the Brexit negotiations. We're all stuck on a sinking ship.... but at least we're together

WonderfiWonderful news that we have finally got rid of that self promoter, who would have gone to the opening of an envelope if it meant his picture in the papers or on TV and who also spent thousands of pounds of public money trying to keep his dubious expenses claims hidden, which included a pretty expensive pair of trews.
And then Angus Robertson who was/is an incredibly objectionable man who believed in confrontation for confrontation sake and not for the hood if Scotland, we are well rude if both.

This is why the labour gerrymandering should have been killed in the coalition with a boundary reveiw. I'm not just saying that because it typically advances my politics but because the current system means it's too easy to end up with a hung parliament even when the country votes centre right. Labour could feasibly get in with a mjority with less votes than the conservatives or the exact same vote.

Bollocks to that - we need a maximum voting age, to get rid of the stupid oldies and their selective memories about how they enjoyed the very benefits - EU membership, working NHS, cheap and subsidised housing, welfare state, free university education, and so on and so forth - that they now want to deny a population that will be dealing with the fallout of their shortsightedness long after they're in the ground.

"The youth of today needs to work harder," they say, "like we did," as they sit in their former council houses bought for a song under the government Right to Buy scheme, polishing their degrees for which they paid absolutely nothing and pulling down their pensions funded by the very youth they hate and the like of which said youth will never see. Sure, grandad. Sure. Drink your cocoa.

Or we could go full Logan's Run. RE-NEW! RE-NEW! RE-NEW!

I don't see why Cons are so unhappy,

    Cons - 42.43%
    Lab - 40.03%

That's like, a massive majority for the Cons *waffle waffle* the will of the people *waffle waffle* mandate for leading *waffle waffle* coalition of chaos avoided *waffle*
