Are you using some special device to be able to control the speed like you are?? I have the Lamptron FC2 and a couple GT 5400's and it wont control them at all.:duh:

If I got one of those for my titan fenrir, would the motherboard cpu header be able to handle the power draw? Or do you need a fan controller?

I think they use a molex with a fan connector for a sensor cable.

Does that mean you can use a fan controller to vary the speed?

I use the Asus Ai Suite that ramps up the fan speed when the cpu is under load. I was hoping I could still use this program if I decided to get one of those high rpm fans to replace the current titan fenrir stock one.

Most fan controllers regulate speed by voltage so you will need to rewire them as I will be doing, the sensor just monitors the revolutions of the fan but doesn't act as a control to regulate the speed.

Thanks for that. I'm getting tempted with the AP-29 3000rpm version now although I'm not sure why as I like quiet.

    No worries :thumb:

I intend to find my happy medium of cooling vs noise with my own.

I'm going to get some of these and use an Arduino to controll them I think, could be cool :)
