I just got an email about some software I've written. Don't understand how they think I could understand german but anyway this is their short question: wie kann ich einen reg_sz eintrag ohne wert schreiben? If you know anything about the registry you'll know reg_sz is a kind of data type. I actually understand most of it thanks to my rapidly dimishing GCSE german. This is what I think it says? how can I write a reg_sz entry without worth.... but that doesn't make much sense .
this wat i got how I can write reg_sz put down without worth i used http://translation2.paralink.com/
Does your software deal with the registry? Is he trying to find a way to do it w/o editing the registry? Or maybe he wants a reg_sz w/ no value? Your translation is right as far as I can tell, but you're right it doesn't make any sense...
My software enables VB users to write/read from the registry. If he wants to write a reg_sz value with no actual data, well it's a stupid thing to ask really. It's like emailing someone and asking them how to spell 'cat'. Anyway do you know how to say: "Is this what you mean?"
Woellen Sie ..... machen? is the best I can think of. "Do you want to...." just be sure to include "Ich bedaure, Ich spreck kein Deutch" a lot.
The person is asking how to write a reg_sz entry without a value. So I suppose he wants an empty reg_sz entry ... Post the text you want to write and I'll translate it into German. No probs at all ... Cheers [DE]FreD_S
alright alright... i have my german exam next wednesday... after 2 years of german, I should get this... :s (I did fail last 2 trimesters... and last year too... ) wie: how kann: can ich : I einen: a reg_se... reg_sz eintrag:entry ohne: without wert:worth schreiben: write so ... how can I write a reg_sz entry without worth so .. how can I write a reg_sz entry without value... so .. how can I make a empty reg_sz entry ? Hope this helped... Edit::1:: forgot entry Edit::2:: Isst das was du bedeutes ? or Isst dieses was du bedeutes?
1. Meinst du das ? 2. Ist es das, was du meinst ? But there are better ways of asking what someone means - it depends on the whole sentance ... Cheers [DE]FreD_S
Thanks for the help. They haven't replied yet but I just told him how to create an empty value (as easy as writing a hello world program). I'll let you know if I need any more help with his reply.
