i nearly bought such a mill some year ago, but I bought a sieg x2 because it was cheaper. that was a huge mistake :/
Yeah hopefully it will be sturdy, Im abit afraid that it might be easy to tip over since it will be 24cm high and 7,5 cm deep. But I'll solve it one way or the other. Yeah the x2 is a pretty small one so I guess there is some limitations of what your able to do with it. Sorry to hear your not totally satisfied with it.
Hello again This update, its time for the SSD mounting. Since the internals are pretty cramped as it is I wanted to make the drivemounting "invisible". At first I made two but managed to screw up one of them in the mill. Will have to redo that later. Anyway here is how It was made. The fit of the drive was way better than expected, no give what so ever. I also made some threaded holes and mounted the larger side walls onto the baseplate. And there you have it. The Levetating drive , well almost.
I keep trying to convince myself I don't need a mill but seeing some of these parts I guess it's the only way to do it cleanly & efficiantly otherwise it's a very long careful filing job . Anyway, beautiful ssd mount love this build .
Yeah I know how it is. Some years ago, I thought I would be fine with only a dremel. Soon I saw what was possible with a pillar drill and then I was hooked. I Don't know if you'll really save any time on a mill though since your ideas will get even more complex once you got the tools, trust me. There is always the need to make something bigger/better the next time. But that can only be a good thing Thanks btw and Im Looking forward to see Stealthlow done. Thanks, don't worry, there is atleast 0.1mm space left with a angled sata connector so I got plenty of room. Na just joking, The drive will be plugged in right before the final mounting and the cable hidden underneeth the drive. But it's a tight fit. Regarding the life.. im working on it, can't you see Thanks a lot, I hope you'l like the rest. Thanks a lot
passive builds are few and far between these days and this one is mint, can't wait to see the front panel / HSF anodized
Thanks, I wish I had a CNC aswell, Just to be clear.. all parts on this project are made on a manual mill.
nice job on the complete build so far. I'm looking forward for the next update and also for updates for Protohype.
Tidiness was my goal so thank you very much Thank you. Well Protohype is not abondoned but will have to step aside for the Green Gadget project comming up. Tthanks a lot, Always nice to get possitive feedback on machining skills since I havn't been doing this for long. And thank you for always stopping by and leaving nice comments like this.
