Amazing and unreal work. Might have been hard ... but above all, I can't even imagine the patience it required to get all this done (5 stars + rep matey).
Thank god for that .... I haven't slept for 2 days , I've drunk enough coffee to kill an elephant , my son runs away screaming when I look at him and my wife has moved out Simple and elegant solution , yes I know it's just a handle but what the hell Only thing is I'm struggling to see how those already very square holes are going to get much squarer ... +rep ah .... sleep at last
Jawdroppingly amazing work and you sir are very talented. The lighter really shows how tiny those holes are and the end result is amazing.
Woh guys.. thanks for all the replies. THanks Thanks dad Thanks, yeah I think it was worth it, but it's not completely done jet Thanks, yeah I think the wood piece saved the backpanel from destruction on several ocations Thanks, all in all I would estimate I've spent around 3-4min on each hole. Thats with drilling, and all the filing so far. Hehe, I almsot did that unintentionally Thanks Sebas Thank you very much craig. Im glad you like the whole process Persistence is a disease Thank you Waynio, for your always nice and supporting comments About the hole size. They are actually 2.8mm square. The initial plan was to have them 3mm but I don't think I dare to chew of any else of the surrounding material, just some minor finetuning. Thanks guys, awsome comments aswell Yeah I remember Cyprious G5 holes, they were awsome. A kick in the balls and someone convinsning me never to do this again will be perfectly fine for me . Thank you master of waterblocks No no, you guys deserve a medal for all the possitive support. THanks. I was prepared for it to take a long time so I went in to this kind of zombie sleepe mode while filing. Then I woke up and it was done. Or maybe not... but it was kind of hypnotical from time to time. haha sorry for ruining your life.. maybe I should compensate you with this life when it's done Actually my missey almost moved out aswell since she became extremly annoyed by the sound of the filing. Thats one of the problems when living in a small apartment and modding in the kitchen:S THanks a lot Patience King, flattering titel. Thank you just
Nice words from a greate modder, thank you Thanks , yeah patience is probably my best tool. But sometimes even the patience can be a bit too much.
There is a very very fine line between genius and insanity, fortunately I think you're just about on the right side of that line ..... tho' as my old ma' would say ''genius has limits, insanity doesn't'' Keep up the superb work
Haha I totally agree with you on that statement, but however, I do have some doubts of on which side Im on. Btw: Say thank you for your mom will you, and give this +rep to her since now I know there is no limits Thank you mate, I can only say the same about you.
..hehe Thanks mate... Always nice to get apreciation from the retro master himself. Current Status update: I've talked to the anodizer and asked for some advice regarding that I was unfortunate to have used 6082 (alu alloy not suited for decorative anodizing) on all of the "cube parts". He told me it would probably be ok, and that they would do what they could to prevent any unwanted results. Im taking a day of next friday to go there and have the parts anodized. He also told me I could expect it to be done the same day so I could take them home with me. Mee likes... So guys.. this story of my life (sry for bad joke) is finaly comming to an end and if everything goes as planned, The final assembly will begin in about a week. The observent one might have noticed that there is still some cables missing and some parts left unexplained, but it will all come clear in the end.
