The internet connection will be a max of 8MB, the wifi will run at 54MB... the wifi connection will not be the bottleneck in the sytem! Windows ICS will do that for you (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/)
friend here in Brazil also have seen much talking about that claim you have an Internet and 8M of places where the speed wi-fi does not come at the right .. seen it happen to be normal because the walls hold to come all the speed that is to come
ahaha. ok..thanks! I am now using it only by Wi-Fi and my router is downstairs near the socket so no extensions needed, the connection seems to be better tbh. Thanks for all that advice. Another thing, and it is more to do with IP address: I posted the IP i have before in this post which i obtained on the website which gives you your IP, but i went on it today again and it gave me differeny IP 86.161.44.3 Is this normal? And how am i suppose to run some game server if my IP changes time to time? Thanks!
BT don't provide static IP addresses so your likely to get a different IP everytime you reset/loose the connection. Have a look at http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/
BT offers an statis IP but only on bussines plans, thats the problem. Ill take a look at your link now =)
I made account and host with DynDNS and forwarded my ports using PFConfig, so now what? The I downloaded the updater so it knows my IP all the time. So what do i give people to acces my server if i make one? Or do i need to link DNS to something? Sorry for my noobnes. Ok I've been fiddling with some server things etc and now it looks like it works BUT! when i run a css server i can join it once by my external IP and then after maybe half of a minute i get a Server time out message. But server does not switch off however i cannot join it again even knowing it is still runing? Is there a reason for that? Maybe something with internet? Or something i should do? Or you think it is server related? Thanks
