    Hi,

so i am preparing for my first overclock (just waiting on my copy of win 7 and my exams/degree to finish next week :thumb: ). i have read greysky's ocing post and have found some other posts on getting the most of my q8200 before i trade it for something better next year. At the moment ram appears to be a rich man's game so i couldn't fork out for the 4gb 1066 i wanted and had to settle for some ocz 800's instead (ebay £50 new)

now i know that this will limit my overclock as at stock i could only push for 400mhz fsb; but i was wondering if anyone knows this ram, and if it can push something approaching 1000mhz so i can try to get 500mhz fsb? ANY advice appreciated as i am a noob

    will be running on:
    Q8200
    Biostar TP45
    HD5770
    4gb ocz 800mhz
    titan fenrir
    akasa powermax 850w

    Thanks in advance.

Start at 400mhz and work up, you may have to tweak the voltage up to keep things stable. Keep in mind the stock voltage on that memory kit is 2.1v, You will more than likely have to set that manually as the default DDR2 spec is 1.8v. 500mhz may be a bit high. IMO you will likely hit stability issues around 450mhz. MemTest (http://www.memtest.org/) will help you find the limit you can push your memory to.
