A cool bloke prepared to fly in the face of traditional health and safety to tell it like it is tbh. Legend.
I totally agree w/ the fire one. Matches are the last stepping stone kids get to learn what fire does without blowing up the house
heh I did all these apart from throwing things and the DMCA because it didn't exist... can't throw though have girley arms.
lool... fire is a wonderfull thing until it gets out of control... like when a waste basker "accidentally" catches on fire in your own room... teaches you to light control and put it off... great link.
My dad and I did every one of those things. I turned out alright, so far. I plan on doing the same with my children when I have them.
Ted is such an awesome site, I don't know why I didn't bookmark it before tbh. I completely agree with what he said - let kids get into it YOUNG while your there to watch them and while they are still learning every-day, otherwise you get a teenager who's never held a knife before or never hurt themselves.
This is (or should be) common sense. As said before, kids learn from experience. I remember when I was young (man, i sound old... ). I climbed trees, set things on fire (even myself...), used knifes and powertools and dismantled stuff (Loved to do that). If a kid uses a knife and looses control over it, he/she doesn't have much arm strength to do any real damage, but an adult can easily cut trough lots of flesh. As long as kids don't fall on the sharp part of a knife or poke each other with them they should be ok. We also have the same problems today when it comes to hygiene. Kids today are way to clean. Normally you don't get sick of eating sand or throwing mud at each other. I'm sure most kids today run a higher risk of chemical poisoning from cleaning products than from bacteria.
If you notice the number of kids today with asthma, you can see the correlation with all the anti bacterial products on the market. Things are too clean now, that kids don't have the chance to build the antibodies required to fight off germs, so when they do come into contact with something nasty they fall ill. As for the stuff in the video, I remember doing all of the above, was a great time being a kid. I feel sorry for them now, wrapped up in cotton wool.
here doctors say kids lack vitamin T, T stands for "Terra" that means soil, dirt and earth..... they are to clean.
Thanks a bunch, elephant... On a lighter note, that video is awesome. I want to go and play with fire right now actually
Your OWN children, not others. In parks. With a telephoto lens. People see pictures of Jesus in a cheese sandwich so a pair of boobs is hardly a further extension of the imagination.
