Some of you may have seen it other places, but this is the puter I gave my GF for christmas, and she totally digged it - Whatcha think? All computer is covered with the shag, even the CDRom, and burner - in one of the small bayes there is a little fanbus that controls the intake exhaust - Exhaust is in front, and intake in back, since exhaust in back caused a high pitched sound because the CPU fan pulls air - "Elsker deg" means "Love You"
Well, didnt really take that much time, tho the span of the project wendt over apx 1 months, because of the parts that needed to be found etc. I didnt have a hole cutter, fur, glue, etc. etc. so thats what took time.. I bed I could make one of these in a day now that I have all parts I used a very strong glue to get the fur on the metal, wich kinda looks like rough silicone, out of a tube that you have to use those metal shooters on (donno how the hell to explain it in english What took time, was to cut the individual pieces for the CDRoms and all, and to get the cloth over the frontpiece.. I have had remarkable progress in my soldering skills since my last project, so that wendt very well Getting the resistors on the fans and the fanbus and all.. The case is virtually soundless (much because of the thick insulated fur ALL OVER it) The fans runs at little under 5v and keeps the temp remarkably cool, was even cooler than when I had a duron processor. I have even sanded the core of the processor, and the HS to get the best heat transfer. The Duron 1k runs at 25degrees idle @ 22degrees roomtemp and has a peak at 35 degrees. There is even a heart cutout on the side, and a neon in it - The HSF is painted red too. The reason why I dont have this in the picture, is that I was too late at buying a plexiglass for the puter, so I had to leave the cutout out. But will mount the plexi soon, and take some other pictures. All the lights were replaced with high-shine red ones, to get the fuzzy feelin' Aopen Midi tower ATX HQ45 Blue was the original tower for this project, because its one of the cheapest, and can be cool when modded.. And really moddingfriendly too. There are some more pictures in : http://home.online.no/~quaker/gfmod Wich are most in the early-progressing states of the case If you have any other questions you did not quite get the answer too, just drop me a line on : Quaker@online.no : cheers
LMAO! also LMAO! bout the muppet comment too Ahh i think it looks good actually - must make ur temps go thru the roof though! Ooo just thought - stick it on some legs and stick some bobble eyes on the top and perhaps give it a tail
Oh oh I'm going to say the same thing I said about Dr Nick's fluffy box - it would look cool in flames r.
Yeah, the mouse is a logitech one.. And no, it doesnt make the temp go off the roof, and yes - I got m4dsex0r
