Does anyone measure their GF4 temperatures?

I use a thermocouple probe which I used to tape (insulating tape) to the rear of the PCB. Readings were around 40-45C.

After a recent system rebuild, I decided to superglue the thermocouple in place. Temps are now running at 55C.

I'm not sure whether the difference is down to the attachment method, or whether I've done "something" during the rebuild (case cooling was good, and is still good)

I've even replaced the stock cooler with a Tt Copper cooler, but temps are still high. I've measured the air-temp between the graphics card and the next card (PCI-3), and it's identical to the rest of the case.

    Any thoughts?
