Graphics GFX Card Pins REQ!!!

    Hi guys

    i removed my old cooler off my old radeon card but one of the spring loaded pinns fellapart an i lost it..... so i was wondering where i can buy or obtain spare pinns to i can attach the cooler back on?????

    You might try just replacing the plastic pins with bolts and use insulated washers so nothing shorts out on the board. It'd probably be easier than trying to find replacement pins (although I've never needed to look so I could be wrong).

    what sort of bolts would i need and how would the bolts clip on the other side and how much pressure is needed for a good contact with the core??

    if any1 else knows where i can get any pins an bolts let me kno!!

    i reckon go to you local PC shop and see if they have any dead mobo's. get the puhpins off the northbridge

    or failing that, and keeping in with the idea of bolts, try to find some plastic bolts and just use those.

    I have used zip ties to great effect more than once.

    Once held a P3 cooler on a voodoo 3000 with some. It's still functioning today.

    I think something with an M3 thread should fit if you can find a way to hold it down without shorting anything (it's what my waterblock uses anyways). Plastic or cardboard washer should work, although technically there's very little exposed circuitry on cards anyways (the color on the board is a protective layer as well, only the legs of circuits are conductive) but you could easily scratch it off tightening it.
