When I am playing a game there seems to be what I could only refer to as scan lines or broken image lines through whatever is on screen. It is especially noticable during the opening developer logo videos when you first start up crysis or during the benchmark in World in Conflict. It looks like when you take an image and make a line through it and the top and bottom halves don't quite match up. I thought it might be a refresh rate problem but It does iin multiple games. Any ideas to what it might be?
Hardware? (which card, single, or SLI/Crossfire) OS, going to assume windows xp? Driver version? Temps on gfx card?
single 8800gts 320mb athlon x2 6000+ windows xp forceware 169.09 beta good temps, card not OC'd I'm pretty sure it's not the temps because I can trun on my computer and go straight into the game and it still does it. I don't think it's the driver either since It did it with other driver versions also. I just got a brand new monitor yesterday also, and the problem still arises.

yeah, it isn't the best thats for sure, but it's a possibility. Hey, can I borrow $200 dollars for a new one? Tis the season to be giving you know lol
Okay, so I was playing Portal yesterday and the screen was doing it's usual thing and I enabled Vertical sync and it fixed the prob. Out of curiosity, what does v-sync actually do?
thanks oasked, guess I could've done that myself lol I had never had that problem before though. You would think that with an 8800gts and a spankin new 22" flatpanal it wouldn't do that but oh well. Thanks for your support guys
