hi, i used win98 for 2 years, and now im changing to xp. but the prob is my harddisks all became NTFS,and i cant run ghost beacuse dos cant see NTFS partitions. my ghost is in a folder in a NTFS partition, i use to do cd.... to open that folder and open ghost.exe using dos,now i cant. can anybody tell me what to do, im lost
instead of using ghost why not use acronis true-image, it will allow you to make a boot cd (not the one where your image is stored, but one that will run a acronis loader!). However if you like ghost i would go ahead and create a floppy, and see if that works
my ghost is 8.0, and no,i can't make a floopy.the ghost is like 6 system files stored in a folder,in order to run i have to open it from dos, i downloaded from the internet, guess is not stable i think i can try the one 1st time modder was saying, that acronis true-image,if it has the features ghost have thank you guys
ghost32, ghost, ghostexp, and some readme ghost32 and ghostexp are all .exe, they can run in windows, but when you make a image they tell you ,you have to go to dos to make the mage
the way my version (not sure which one - not currently by my main PC) of ghost works is that you install the main s/w in windows, then run the little prog to create a ghost boot floppy. You then boot from the floppy which contains the files you need in compressed form, it uncompresses them on the fly when you boot and runs ghostpe.exe ghostpe can then recognise ntfs volumes when backing up \ restoring Camel
Ghost v8 can definatly read NTFS formatted disks, hell even v7 could! The only difference is that v8 has good SATA suport and is faster than previous versions. Well thats your problem then. You havnt got the Ghost Boot Disk making program, which you need. Also Ghost v8 ISNT a free program. Warez bad m'kay.
