I have the Gigabyte 965P DS3 and was wondering about its digital audio connections.

I see from the realtec audio software that there is a 'digital input' on the board. Does anyone know if the same S/PDIF connector on the back is used for output and input, or is the input just a header on the motherboard (if so, where can i get a connector)?

I have a Thomson DTI 2300 digital set top box, which has an S/PDIF Output (and the crappiest UI ever). I've connected this to the digital connection on the mobo, but am not getting any signal on the digital input.

The box could actually be the problem - ive never had a chance to test the digital output, so that might just not work...

also, what does the 'auto lock' button do on the control panel (under the digital input tab), and what does 'status: unlock' mean. I am running vista by the way
