The amount of USB 3.0 ports on the UD4 looks neat :D, now wether to get the Lian Li V1020 or Bit Fenix survivor...

Just one little grammar error to nit pick about: "which we expect will become more apparently as Gigabyte packs" the inclusion of the ly on the end of this word is inappropriate. Other than that, interesting read.

I honestly prefer black or dark colors, it's much easier to blend into a colored build. Though I think they coulda snuck their light blue onto one set of RAM slots.

I dont really like the internal sata ports being converted to esata and stuck on the I/O port. The esata breakout bracket gigabyte used was more flexible, although i guess slightly messier if you did want to use esata.

Even with a pci-e raid controller, im still using 8 mobo sata ports, and it seems the UD7 is the only board that has that many.

edit: and yeah, i also liked their blue boards better.

    Nice preview, thanks!

I think is awful that the less expensive has the sata up-facing, but given the chance I'm affraid I'd pay the premum.

oh god thank you, now i will finally be able to buy gigabyte boards. the old washed white-blue color was by far the worst color choice ever made on a motherboard imho.

i like how they are going with the designs but i think it is too much black tbh. i think they should have put more colour on the heatsinks and coloured the ram slots and pci slots. it is a move in the right direction. i hope they have scraped the yellow sata cables as well, as that really annoyed me they where just so ugly

Ive always heard Gigabyte boards were stable and OCed like a dream but I instantly ignored them because they looked so bad. Now that they have a new coat of paint I might have to check them out.

I still see blue accents but looks like anodised blue which is cool :D, I like the look of the UD4, would fit in perfect with my next project, so I'm glad I've held out for my next system, matt black with silver & blue accents is a great move for gigabytes colour scheme (I really like it) :).

And damn that UD7 looks very kicka$$, please be standard ATX & not the silly e-atx or xl-atx, it's decided I want one of those UD7's for my next project :jawdrop:.

What the market really needs is some white PCB motherboards again. Wish someone would pick up where Sapphire left off.

So P67 provides native USB3 but these things have no more SATA provision (6 or otherwise) than current alternatives. There goes one argument for me upgrading....

U.U a socket change? 6 USB3? Who needs that? Maybe 6 SATA3 for solid state disks. RAID capable of course. This generation of intel MBs is stupid. No even better performance! at least GB is still making good looking MBs =/
