    Hello All,
    Looking for some help here...
I am currently building a system that uses a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 and an ASUS SATA DVD drive.
On boot up the system identifies the DVD drive but cannot read the Windows 7 disc.
I played with the SATA settings. Switching to AHCI in the bios did not help.
After searching the web I've found out that I'm not the only person to have this problem. Knowing that the experts here have used this board and flagged it as a favourite, I'm hoping you guys have seen this before and can point me in the right direction.
Looking for some thoughts as to where to go next.
    Thanks,
    Phil

After wasting 4 hours troubleshooting the problem I discovered that I inserted the disc with the label facing downwards. :wallbash:
This sounds like a Mastercard add in the making.

Some guidance on AHCI would still be appreciated. Should I enable it or run SATA in IDE mode?

Hopefully my evenings frustration makes a few people laugh.
    Phil

Run SATA in ACHI mode - it gives more advanced features.

    Also, sneaky lol
