    Hi all,

Does anyone have a GIGABYTE Z370P motherboard? I need a bit of an advice...

I am trying to install WHS 2011 on a Samsung SSD. It went through the first stage of setup, but it then asked for drivers to continue with the setup. But it does not specify WHAT driver.

Based on my Google search, it seems to be something to do with the AHCI. So I looked at the BIOS but it's all totally different (bear with me, my previous BIOS was AWARD so this is all new to me!!) and if it was configured correctly, I wouldn't need to load the drivers and that the setup would continue.

Can anyone advise what settings I should set in the BIOS of this new motherboard in order for this to work?

    Thanks,

Yep, I've already tried it, no luck. :(

Do I need to change something in BIOS?

    Figured it out.

Motherboard "thinks" that booting up an USB acts like an DVD drive, which is why WHS 2011 is asking drivers for this. After going through many troubleshooting, I gave up, found a DVD drive, burned an ISO to DVD disc and booted it up. No problem, no prompt for drivers!

    All good now... finally!

It was likely because you were installing via a USB 3.0 port. It will not work for an OS that old.

Try a USB 2.0 port next time. :)

It was plugged to USB 2.0 :/

    That's why I was puzzled!
