Yeah, that's what I was thinking.. If she's off to Uni anyway, her mum's probably not got too much of an issue, although it does depend on where she's said she's staying...

"Yeha, it's fine, I'll be staying in a hotel", "Oh, cool, I'll come with you!", "Bugger.."

If (big if) her mom's really coming with her that probably means they won't be sleeping at your place at all so no need to worry about that.

My family own this hotel, And i live here and manage it so she could of always had a room upstairs <3,

I messed up by sending a honest text telling her she'd be sharing a room with me but she'd have the bed and i'd have the sofa, to which their was no reply,

Anyway guy's, I think its come to a end (her call), It was fun while it lasted i guess.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, Don't hate me too much, (insults coming)?

In that case, it might not be over. Just don't say anything more about the sleeping arrangements kay? Who knows, maybe she isn't too happy about you having to sleep on the floor :thumb:

Dude, don't give up yet, there are a milion reasons why she could have not responded, and women don't even need reasons to pull this sorta thing off.

The fact that she told her mum in the first place also shows she was thinking about it and excited about it, over a week before.

Also, tell her that her mum can't come. You are doing this to meet her, not her family. Saying it that way will score a first compliment AND get the message across, while adding a smiley will even let you get away with it if it turns out she was joking :p

Or she'll think OP is an utter douche. I don't see how that could possibly be interpreted as a compliment, either.

This way it's more like saying "it is really about you, so i'm going to tell you who you can bring along because i don't want your relatives to get in the way of what i have planned for us"

And by the way this doesn't necessarily mean her mother will be hanging with them all along.

I'm just going to switch to my own position on these things now, instead of dressing it up as advice. OP should do what he's most comfortable with.

If I go on a date with a girl, i'll be damned if i have a mom tagging along or hovering nearby. If she's one of those old-fashion parents that do actual parenting and want to meet me before i take their precious daughter out, fair enough, i'll come pick her up, shake hands, smile, eat home-made cookies if i have to. I'm not a douche, and i can totally understand parents keeping an eye out, but when i take a girl out, it's her and me, period.

Which begs the question... how old (roughly) are OP and OP's future ex? :D

Oh and about the compliment thing... alpaca got it.

    But this isn't a date.

Let's be honest here that was an extremely optimistic interpretation and i don't think it's realistically going to work out that way. I believe my response to Alpaca's post is more likely (of course you believe that since that's your opinion, captain obvious).

Yeah and they generally seem to think it's normal >.<
