Networks Give me a push...

Bit of a weird one this...


I have be thinking about getting 512k broadband now for a few months, i recently got a job and get £200 a month with no commitments, so its disposable. I'm currently on 56k. Before i got my job, when i got a job the first thing i wanted was broadband but now i cant seem to make my mind up, i have stopped using the internet for anything but forums, IM, reading reviews, e-mail and general surfing, havent used kazza for a bit, prob wud if i got BB. Im looking at the pipex extreme solo 2go package about £24, i just need people to express their opinions on why i should get it. God im a freak anyway think i should get it?

i go pipex, they seem as good as most isp's around.... but like u said it's up to u to decide it u really need it or not.... £200 can buy alot of comp parts......

i have had 2 months pay so far and the bulk of it has been spend on upgrades but Nedsbeds has a point.
Antother thing i would use it for is games i supose, ut2k3 on 56k is a joke!

 

Once you get broadband you would never willing go back to dail up. Many people that have broadband when moving make sure they can get it at the new place.

lol I actually wouldnt move into a certain part of town as they didnt have broadband except for sat...

As for broadband for you, try maybe a 256k connection if they have it, dont know but since they have the 512 it would make since...anything will be much better than what your using now as the net is changing to a more image hefty enviroment...

Thanks for all the replies, i may have found a better option for me, heard of 'Metronet'? you pay a fee of £10 and this enables you to doenload upto 200mb any extra mb per month costs £0.0025 so 201mb would cost £10.0025 this carries on until 5796mb where after this point you are not charged for any extra you download, making the max you have to pay £24.99 i wont do that much downloading so i cant see myself using the nearly 6gb a month, but it does restrict my freedom, i dunno wot you think guys?

I say just go for the Pipex package, you won't regret it once you realise how fast forum browsing becomes.

 

Pipex definitely has my recommendation - competitively priced, quick and reliable. And no download limit.

I got an e-mail that bt will get it sorted in 10 days, that was last thurs, only 9 days 'working' from then to crimbo thats if you don't count saturdays, will they be working saturdays? i want if before crimbo im all excited like a little girl.

I doubt BT will be working during the week, let alone Saturdays.

 

im on plus.net and it took them a total of 4 days until I was online and surfing madly. Its getting quicker all the time. But I didn't have anything on the line other than a normal POTS. No DACS no ISDN or anything of that ****.

my line just has on it caller waiting and caller display, their tests say its all good, and they said within 10 days so my fingetrs are crossed.

should be fine then mate. Just leave em to it. Have you got your Roter/MODEM plugged in yet. That might give you an indication from the sync light.

 

havent got the modem yet but, i have recived an e-mail telling me that i will be connected on the 19th so friday yay! i'm not gonna sleep thurs night....you think im joking

 

What modem are you getting, a nice ethernet one I hope.
