    Sorry to thread hijack but I was not sure if it was worth starting a new COH 2 thread to ask this general question/gripe.

    Can anyone tell me why on earth the COH2 pre-orders are costing so much?

    Currently Amazon have it at £36.77 and Steam for £39.99 both of which are typical console game prices, not PC game prices which historically have been much lower.

    Amazon are normally very good for well priced pre-orders on popular PC Games, example of some games I have bought at very favourable pre-order prices:

    The Witcher 2 Special Edition: £24.99
    Deus Ex Human Revolution Augmented Edition: £24.99
    Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai: £15
    Hitman Absolution and the Professional Edition: £25 & £35 respectively.
    Tombraider 2013: £24.99
    Civ 5 God & Kings £12.99

    Hell even Rome 2 Total War is pre-order for £27.99; not nearly £37 quid like COH2.

    Hopefully what this highlights is that often, even special edition games have been available for much better prices and COH2 seems to break the mould significantly, cost even more than the Profession edition of Hitman Absolution, itself a departure in pre-order pricing of such games.

    I did hear Relic & THQ were in some financial difficulty, so maybe this is in response to that but I can't help wondering if they might actually loose sales from such a price sensitive market.

    I realise that COH2 could be the most exciting RTS since the original but even so, £37 is a bit of a big ask. I have always felt that £30 for DD and £25 for physical (via Amazon often) were good day 1 prices. I know some of you will say well it's only 7-10 quid more but that's pretty large in percentage terms. As a long term fan of Relic titles and a big fan of the Original COH I can’t help feel the pang of disappointment about the current pricing :/
