Well right up until today when I finally decided to post these pics I thought this was an original idea. But as I was browsing the forums I noticed Bard's Multitech Interactive Leisure Station uses a sort of similar Idea. The plan was to have the entire glass surface of the desk light up by applying EL light strips along the edges for the light to shine "thru" the glass. The effect wasn't perfect, but I am very pleased. I also installed a rocker switch in the actual frame of the desk to shut off the lights if I dont want them on. Anyway, A pic is worth a thousand words. Hope you all like. You can also see my new JBL Creatures in that pic with their downfiring LEDs, I plan to change those out to white as soon as I have some time. you can also see to the left of the right green UFOed satellite that my mouse receiver has an led set in lace in the bottom providing a nice ufo glow along the bottom. On a side note while taking the third picture my cellphone just happened to ring to provide a bit of extra lighting (its blue backlit too) Anyway, thats my workstation, I have other plans eventually, but those will have to wait. - Daishi
Buy the desk here @ staples Thats where I bought it. currently I dont have the rest of the set. But the craftmanship is very elegant and though the glass needs to be cleaned frequently it is very utilitarian. Also space is not an issue when you have your monitor elevated. All the room is still underneath it. That was the most attractive feature to me. The monitor shelf even supports a 60 lb monitor. Though i currently use an LCD that weighs much less. Here is one more picture I forgot to post: - Daishi
Its an awesome desk to be sure. and has all sorts of little things that you dont notice at first. Mainly the ingenious use of space and elegant curves of the frame. ITs by far the best desk ive ever owned. Another HUGE bonus to me was the assembly process. All told to assemble straight out of teh box took me about 30 minutes. Ive had desks that have taken up to 8 hours. But assembly and disassembly are a snap. (I sound like a used car salesman ) lol - Daishi
Acrylic cases would look nice. I have a CM111 and it matches the desk almost perfectly. extremely attractive if you ask me. - Daishi
If I could only find a corner desk, I do like the looks of them, even the corner unit, however I prefer my nose in a corner, that way when I run three monitors I'm surrounded.
when you see the corner connector in person its rather impressive. Actually very stable (had my 115 lb girlfriend sit on it at staples the other day to see if it would break) it didnt . Almost makes the computer part of the full assembly have more desktop space than the Executive section. Perfect for printers/hubs/routers and all that other stuff you set down and dont move. Now if I could justify the 250.00 to actually replace my oldschool table that the rest of my things currently reside on.....they work pretty good for what i need. BUT ITS ALL ABOUT STYLE. sigh.... -Daishi
