My mothers email account has sent out a spam email to everyone on there address list. We have changed the password and will change the rest of her accounts that use the same email and password. I have run anti virus check and nothing was found. I am downloading ad aware and spybot for further checks and thinking of dling another anti virus to double check.

Is there anything further I should be doing to check the pc is ok or is this likely too be a hack of just gmail and not the computer?

    Thanks

Nope sounds like you have done the lot.

I had a similar thing happen on my Yahoo mail not that long ago and after a few Google searches found that it probably wasn't caused by any nasty my end but just that somebody had managed to hack my password. Simply changing my PW to a safer one using Password safe stopped it.
Check your PC though with Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware and your usual AV.
    Good luck. :thumb:

I had a couple of instances where my email account appeared to have been hacked. As I couldn't actually find any kind of keylogger on the system using virus/spyware protection software, I ended up formatting the system both times. :D
