I've got Crysis running on my 9800XT okay and the game kicks ass, but after watching some videos here http://www.cubed3.com/topic/23841/ I feel like my graphics are poo. Total poo. I'm tempted to get a paper job so I can run this game like its meant to played! (1280x1024/1280x960 @ Low Settings lol) The lower reseloution is for the level I'm on at the moment (Assault) Tim
Illiterate parents who can't read the game age requirement? Oh yes it is, 9pm was bed time for me at that age.
No support will be given for this game by us. And no more support will be given my me until you prove us all that you have uninstalled the game on your computer and broke the disk. You are under the game age requirement. You can't play this game. At 10 I was also sleeping at 9pm. If I stayed a bit more up, my parent would choppy me into pieces and have me for dinner. Your are too young to play this game, your eyes are not precise enough. More like your brother or parents video card.
Have you tried, you know, turning up the settings? On rare occasions that contributes to the overall visual quality of the game. What FPS you getting? Whats your rig? Give us more to work with other than your res and your card. PS, just dawned on me, is that ATi 9800 or a nvidia 9800? If the former then stop complaining, if the latter, start complaining more.
Wow, you guys really are condescending. If you've only got an ATI 9800XT I'm not suprised that you get terrible frame rates. When I bought Crysis I bought the game and a new graphics card. If you can convince your parents, an 8800GT is good - but you'll probably need a different computer to plug it into.
i think you are the reason why people like jack thompson exist! granted, we don't think you'll go running off thinking you can kill koreans, but there's an age rating system there for a reason.
tbh, i do vaguely recall being up at all hours sneaking on to the pc to play dune 2 when i was a kiddie. got busted frequently and punished with a spanking paddle.
Bed! You were lucky to live in a house! When I was 13 we used to live in one room, all twenty-six of us, no furniture, 'alf the floor was missing, and we were all 'uddled together in one corner for fear of falling.
sadly i have a 12 year old...and if she came out with "God Damn Cryis makes my GC look **** " or "kicks ass" i would take her pc away for a week until she learned to speak with respect and without the need to swear to try to get a point across. the terminology you use just enforces the point, your not old enough, not mature enough to be playing the game to begin with.. sell the game, take the money and put it aside for a new vid card, get the paper route and upgrade your pc as much as you can, then by the time your of age for the game it should be able to run full on.
The thing that gets me is that we shouldn't be the guys telling people to "wait til they're old enough" - where are good old Mum & Dad? The reason why violent games get a bad name (a la Jack "All Games are the spawn of satan" Thompson) are because at an age like 12, they do have a negative effect on peoples psyche and personality. However - the first people to complain when 9 year old Jimmy nicks a car, or 13 year old Katie blows up an orphanage are the kids parents... "Oh, well I blame this game, teaching my kid how to kill people". All the while the media doesn't dare blame parents, as it's far easier to use a faceless corporation as a scapegoat, than address the issue that people don't take raising children seriously enough any more. Best advice - Trade in the game for a copy of Viva Pinata.
