Here's a nifty chair mod for ya. I used to have wooden chair that made my legs and butt go numb, especially sucks when I'm gaming. So I took the right middle passenger seat out of my aerostar. It wasn't being used and freed up some space for cargo. I unbolted Ford's metal contraption from the base of the chair. Then mounted the chair to a piece of mdf. I used drywall screws to attach the spinney caster thing from another chair to the mdf. It is probably the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. Here's my old man testing it out.
I've wanted to do something like that with one of my van seats for years. The back support on that type of office chair is useless. I'm always sliding out of them. You might want to change out the base with something that will let you tilt the seat back further.
Cheaps it still has the recliner/lean back lever. I need to put some lead weights lower down so I can lean back without the chair tipping over. XD
I saw a TV program about the recycling of aircraft and thought how sexy the passanger or even cockpit seats would be with this sort of modding idea in mind.
