When this starts to hurt their tourism dollars they'll quit doing it. THe DUI thing is not new, but to pick up on the minor BS is, well, BS. :duh:

Yeah...a drug conviction from 1975? You'd think they would make some rules that say after X amount of time smaller charges go away. That charge is 32 years old and probably when the person was doing crazy stuff in college judging by the fact he would have been 23 then.

This is actually due in part mostly to American paranoia concerning border security. Border policy has to be changed on BOTH sides... I mean for god sakes, Canadians now have bring their passports with them to the border (or will have to soon).

Besides, it has been this way for a Canadians going to the US for as long as I can remember, so what the problem?

It's good to see that the Canadians are treating the us the same way the us treats everyone else. Maybe instead of complaining about how the us citizens are treated, you should complain about the way that vistors to the us have their human rights abused.

Just because the US may do it doesn't mean the rest of the world should follow suit. As was said, when this starts to hurt there tourism and suspiciously crime stays constant they will get a bit more lax about the rules.

Who wants to goto canada anyway ? :)
