Sharkoon Silent Eagles are supposed to be very good fans - I have read lots of reviews about them as I really appreciate a quiet PC. They don't shift as much air as other fans but are indeed very quiet.

I have the normal non-PWM Sharkoons and they barely audible compared to my GFX card and seem to do the job well. Just makes sure you have a good sensible air flow route through your system.

I have three Gentle Typhoon 1450RPM fans installed at the moment, with another four waiting to be modded onto a side panel. Very, very quiet and they shift some air!

I put 2 of the non SE silent eagles in my case yesterday, and i must say im impressed, easily the quietest fans ive had. If only i could find a way to cool my 275GTX quietly my rig would be near silent.

i've used 2 of the silent eagle SE's on my Corsair H50 with a PWM splitter cable on the CPU mobo socket, brilliant fans for that job. i used normal Silent eagle 1000 fans for my case (5 in total) and can't run them below 660rpm before my fan controller (akasa allinone2) complains to me, but they're really quiet. but if i thought about it nowadays, would probably have got the SE's and linked them up to the CPU mobo socket for automatic control (rest of my mobo's fan headers are 3 pin, not the 4pin PWM type). using this fan splitter would also make sure your cpu header can drive that many fans without burning out your mobo

i know CPC didn't think highly of it, but i used Akasa's Freedom Force CPU cooler on my 275. and it still keeps it below the temps of the stock cooler, yet with the minimum fan speed my fan controller does (about 1200rpm for the 2 akasa fans). i've not really had a need to crank them up to full while playing, but even at 2500rpm, they're not that loud

I have two silent eagle 1000 golf ball fans, slightly different, in my antec p183 case along with a gelid tranquilo cpu cooler. The only noise now comes from my gtx 275. Air flow is great.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/120mm-Sharkoon-1000-Golf-Ball-Quiet-19-dB(A)-Case-Fan-367-CFM

I'm sure there are ways around this but dont think the fans are made to go faster than 1000rpm. Never found a need for this as the fans airflow is great anyway.
    Hope this helps :)

have only ever bought sharkoon fans, golf balls are really quiet, i get more noise from the HDD.

if you intend getting them from scan, phone them first to check they are in stock! i did it on line needed 3, chased order a week later to find only one in stock and awaiting delivery......order came month and a half later.....still using scan though
