hey looking for a good byte counter to measure the total bandwidth used, friend has a cap on usage and needs to keep an eye on his downloading and gaming anyone know a good one ? oo has to be FREEE
Ah your looking for me ?! Ok seriously now, the problem with bandwidth monitor is that it also count network data transfer between computer to router, and any networking access. So in result, it may show that the user used 30GB of bandwidth... but in reality he never access the web. What you need is something on the router side. Of course you can't unless you have an enterprise level router which are usually very expensive.
Good point GoodBytes (lol) NetMeter will monitor what gets sent through a nework interface, so if you send a 5GB file to another computer it will count in the totals... You can just close the program if your doing any local network copies/traffic...
yeah i know it will ick up netwrok traffic too so wont be amazing accurate but hes te only one connected so 9/10 it will be internet traffic
I suggest to monitor your network activity first with the program to to grab a better estimate or reality.
