for my new build i am considering matching a fractal desighn define r3 case sabertooth x58 mobo sapphire radeon hd 6850 1 gb antec true power 650 I7 950 thermaltake frio fan spinpoint f3 1tb hdd and 6gb xms3 pc-3 12800 mem i plan to link this to my AV system and am unsure if HDMI is an option or component connections many thanks in advance
That sounds fine. If you have extra money you might want to consider a sound card if you're going to do AV work with it, or if you just want it to sound better. I'm not proficient in AV so I can't tell you about the HDMI situation.
HI You should have a HDMI (either full size or mini) put on that graphics card. That could go to a receiver. I beleiev that the sabertooth also has a digital sound out port too for suround sound as well as line out ports and sound through hdmi.
That 6850 strikes me as somewhat less high-end than the rest of the system. Not that there's much out there these days to justify a realy high-end card, but still.
i went withhd6850 as is has rear cooling which was suggested for fractal design r3 case if there are others available i would consider an upgrade
