What don't you want gmail? Gmail is by far the fastest email service, the pages are designed to reduce the bandwidth you need to view an email, so even on a slow connection gmail is very fast!

Hotmail is slow because you have to reload the pages to view another message etc.

Gmail is probably one of the most relaible. Some of the smaller email services like walla and lycos have limited features.

If you don't want any of them, then your best bet is to buy one. I buy a package from 1&1(hosting company) which has a domain, three email addresses at that domain with Virus protection on one. It costs about 8 quid a year or something like that. Not a huge deal for a good fast email service.

I use my ISP (blueyonder) for day to day e-mails. Then Gmail when signing up to stuff. That way my blueyonder inbox isn't full of junk e-mail.

I use a couple of gmail accounts and a couple from my own bought domains, gmail runs just as well and as fast.
And you can now run gmail through pop3.

As for the bought domains, www.123-reg.co.uk for about a fiver you get a .co.uk domain and pop3 email access.

I use the emailbox that came with my internetconnection (providers), gmail and the mailboxes of my hosting. But I prefer either gmail or the one of my provider.

Yeah, I know hotmail is very succy, but since he made a list of what he didn't want, and didn't include hotmail, I just had to mention it ;)

Use both G and Hotmail myself, G owns Hotmail big time

The reason I dont want gmail is I already have it and I want Dricon@blahblah.com and my gmail account gets a TON of spam.
I dont want to keep deleting all of that stupid spam.

Sorry but blahblah.com is already taken :D [/sarcasm]

But as stated what you need to do is buy a domain from the likes of www.123-reg.co.uk and you get pop3 email with that domain.

Ok, lot's of people are saying use your ISP email, but(and no offence), this is a really really dumb thing to do. I'm in the process of migrating to Zen DSL from BT dial up, it's all going smoothly except one thing. My dad has his personal email address with BT, who aren't exactly going to be accomadating once we stop paying them whatever a month. They might seem easy, but getting your ISP email address established can be very annoying if you have to move it when you change ISP.

Thats a very valid point. I want my parents to switch from Wanadoo to another ISP, but they won't only because they use their Wanadoo email accounts a lot, and changing the address will be very inconvienient!

If you are getting spam with gmail, open up another account. I've had gmail for about 5 months now, and I have not recieved a single spam message (touchwood), because I look after my account and do not sign up for internet crap using my personal email address, I use a hotmail one instead - which doesn't get much junk either.

Tbh, it's people's own fault if their account get spammed. So the best option is to open a new one. :)

I don't get any spam in my primary gmail inbox and I use it a lot and have had it for months.

I don't really use it but I still have access to an NTL account that I had over 3 years ago :p
