    Hello

I am looking for a new gfx card to replace my failing 280gtx :waah:

    My specs:
    Intel i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz (stock, not OC)
    Gigabyte EX58-UD5
    Corsair DDR3 (6 gig of)
    Corsair 750w PSU
    Running Windows 7 (64)

Can anyone offer some advice, give some suggestions?

Price range is £100 - £180 ish. I would like to spend less rather than more if I can but I also like to keep cards for at least a good 2 or 3 years, so a good "future proof" card is needed.

I run Eve, DoW2, Crysis 2, ME2 etc and plan on playing things like BF3, ME3 etc so again I would rather get something thats future proof even if it is a few quid more.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Andy (vreetech)

At that price you can't beat a GTX560 Ti. Probably the Asus CUII flavour or MSI Twin Frozr :thumb: But it does depend on your screen resolution. If at 1920x1080 you should be pretty much ok with a GTX560 Ti :)

And for God's sake get that i7 overclocked :hehe:

Thanks. Yes i am running at 1920 x 1080. TBH the 3 cards I was looking at are:

    Asus CUII TOP
    MSI Twin Frozr
    Gigabyte 560Ti OC

All I can find for about £170 - 180 ish

But as i dont know much about these "newfangled" cards im still looking for help on them :hehe:

P.S why does everyone want me to OC my i7 :hehe:

Is there any particular Ti recommended? I like the look of the Gigabyte OC (not the Super OC) but have no idea if it is any good, or at least good compaired to the competition.

:thumb: On the Radeon side you could look at the 6850, 5850, 6870 or 5870 (that's in perf order). All these cards (and the GeForce equivalents) are very good choices and prices roughly reflect relative performance within each family so there's no major pitfalls to avoid.
